Down to the wire...

It is hard to believe that in one week is the trip. We planned and booked starting in Dec, now it is almost July. The excitement is building day by day. I cannot wait to be on the Amtrak Auto-Train , sleeping in the tiny 3 1/2 x 6 1/2 room, getting off in Florida. Driving over to St Augustine then onto Orlando- Pop Century Resort. ...one week away....just dreaming.

I'm excited for you...we are trying to figure out when we can get back down to see our daughter. You will have a great time...I just sent my daughter a list in one of my books about the top 10 snack foods at WDW...one of them is the Twinkie Tiramisu at Pop Century...maybe you can try it and let us know how it is.

Donna, I am soooooooooooo jealous! The train AND Disney World -- sounds like a dream vacation to me....I was at Pop Century in February (my first solo trip!) and can't wait until next February when I'll be there again. Have fantastic trip! Can't wait to hear all about it! Say hi to Mickey for me!

I liked Pop Century -- not as much as I like Animal Kingdom Lodge but I can't afford to stay there all the time!!!!! The only thing I would suggest for Pop Century is to request a room in one of the 60s buildings if at all possible. The resort is HUGE and the 60s buildings are closer to the food court and the buses. I was in one of the 50s buildings and after walking all day at the park, the last thing I wanted to do when I got back was walk another gazillion miles to my room!

Well as of today we are on our way back home. Currently we are in Savannah- we didn't get to walk around the town due to the problems with parking..but I did find Bonadventure Cemetery

The train ride was awesome, most of the time we had fun..but unfortunately there were some moments.
