I saw a great comic on the editorial page of the newspaper the morning. The kid is calling home telling his parents he just got an iPhone ($600), and premium service plan ($100) and asking them for rent money.

Is it just me or is that an idiotic amount to spend for a phone/media player?????

I have no intention of getting an IPhone. For one, the IPhone itself is a little pricey for me. Next, the service plans are restricted to only 3 choices. Why not give I-Phone buyers the same choices that the buyers of any other Cingular phone has? Lastly, I don't like Cingular! I also think that in a few months, they are going to find some major flaw in it.

I'm intrigued but I'll wait till other companies start to catch up and force a more competitive price point. Maybe a year or so. My contract just ended with my current provider and there are trying to get me to re enlist. ha!

I wanted one sooo bad then I read the actual reviews on it and it's supposedly not the greatest phone in the world. Plus, in the gadget world (I'm a phone geek) you should never get something that is first generation. Let all the bugs get worked out and hell, let the price go down.

They are just too pricey for me to justify switching right now. I can understand why the phone itself is expensive, but the idea of paying so much a month for service is just too much for me.

Also, I like the big screen that I have on my PCs. I don't think that I would use it much as an internet browser because of the small screen.

I too, am waiting for the next generation to come out. Let the bugs get fixed and wait for the price to come down a bit.

Cingular/AT&T has a contract with Apple for exclusivity for at least 3 years according to our local paper.

I have to admit, I have to have this phone. It's my weakness. I am a gadget junkie.

Eh. Maybe in five years when the price has gone down and when I can choose my service provider. Maybe. It's just a phone. (And, well, unemployed poor people don't need $600 phones. Ever.)

And did I also hear that you can't change the battery yourself? You have to send it in when it needs replacing.

Why pay that much for a phone thats not 3G? I would also have liked to have seen gps and support for divx files. Also i didn't see any mini sd slot which is limiting with respect to non blue tooth peripherals.

I would love an Iphone. I am a big fan of anything Apple. I'm using one now. My husband and I both have ipods too. So huge fans. However we don't have the money for one right now. My husband just wants one to use the internet and other parts of it. he is isn't interesting in the phone part. He doens't need a cell phone.

So to answer your question: yes would love one but to expensive and might get one when they go down in price.
