I must admit that being a grandmother is one of the best jobs I have ever had to do. I remember the day my first grandchild was born. We all gathered at the hospital and waited and waited. It happened to be the day that Princess Diana died and I can remember watching it over and over on television. Since then, I have had the good fortune to add three more grandchildren to the mix. Every one of them very different, but just as beautiful as the first. I try to do things with them as time allows, but I have to be wary of the things their grandfather is able to participate in at this time. My daughter once gave me a quote that I would love to share with you.
"You grandchildren won't remember what car you drove, how big your house was, or how much money you had, but they will remember the time you spent with them and the times you took them by the hand."
I am not sure who the quote is by, but I always smile when I see it because I know years after I am gone, my grandchildren will remember me and their grandfather in good ways. Tell me about your grandchilren!!!
