Yesterday I went crabbing with our fellow Gatherite Laurun on a small brook that runs into Cape Cod Bay. While I was crabbing, Laurun took these pictures of an old pro with my camera.

This is quite addictive....I'm getting to be an ole pro.
Working on my form!

Where did that damn crab go?

uh-ha...napped it!
I can smell success....we'll be steaming golf balls tonight!

" Hey Laurun...I did it!"
Golf balls in the pot!

20 down...can you beat that?
Last night we had a crab salad....but today I', thinking about a crab and rice cassarole.
Crab and Rice Casserole
1 cup cooked rice about 6 to 8 oz. crab meat
5 hard-cooked eggs 1 C. mayonaise
1/2 Tsp. Worcestershire grated onion
1 6 oz. can evaporated milk pinch of tarragon
Mix all ingredients. Put in buttered shells or casserolle dish. Sprinkle with Parmesan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until bubbly.

Oh Vicky...I could never really live away from water. Papa, Will and I actually lived in Carbondale, Illinois for 10 months while Papa was getting an advanced degree in Community Development...but I hated every minute of it! We would run over to the Mississippi so I could at least feel I had an outlet to the sea.
Do you feel the cool breeze from the ocean, Amy?
Hi Faith...thought I'd make this today...but then it just got so damn hot...so instead we had a salad again!
Of course we can all go....too bad you couldn't just come when Tonia was here...I could keep you busy while Tonia does her work!
Nice catch of crabs, Your recipe for crab and rice casserole sounds lovely, but I doubt they would have made it to the next day at my place. Just looking at your catch in the bucket, I wanted to get my hands in there and start busting them up, nothing compares to a good feed of Crab, prawns or Lobster you have caught yourself. You are a pretty good fisher-woman Bob. If you continue to tease me with your wonderful crabbing trips, I'll end up down the fish shop buying some, as its way to cold to dive for crabs or lobsters down here just yet. Another lovely photo essay Bob,and thank you for inviting us on your trip, take care .

like crab. Your recipe made my mouth water.
Otelia...didn't you hear the luncheon bell...lunch is over...you'll have to wait.
I'm glad you had so much fun. Wit 'til you go clamming! I'll have to make you wear the oilskins! Hanging out with me eh!
As for the legs...would you believe I was out walking and ran into poison ivy...and with the open wounds...that just made a portal for the poison ivy to step in....my legs are now pink with calamine lotion! If its not one thing, its another! LOL!
Katrina's recipes are mouth watering...we'd make a killing!!! I'd say you definitely have a plan here ;)
And yes, we'll bring Laurun on board!
and drooling!!! These pictures of you crabbing are sooo neat!!! Yep~ You're a NATURAL at this....you would have some men hanging around too....you know how these fishermen love women with muscles and stamina...LOL!!!!
But that's alright if all the guys are gawking at Linda...more gawking, less lobstering for them....which means MORE for us...I'll put on those Oilskins and dive right in and catch those squirmy cristaceans on the ocean floor and then I'll heave them up to you with a mighty fine pitch and you'll play first base and catch them everytime!
I don't even follow baseball...don't know where that came from!
I loved the pictures. This looks like it would be a fun way to spend some time.
