Fred Thompson: Not In The Race, But Doing Some Serious Positioning In South Carolina!

Fred Thompson, is he running? Or, isn't he's running? I haven't heard of a grassroots campaign effort, but there was some serious positioning going on in South Carolina. Fred Thompson is positioning himself as being strong on border control (ie. supposedly against the current comprehensive immigration bill) and strong against the war on terror (for the war in Iraq), depending on your perspective.

Can he raise the money necessary to mount a creditable race? Apparently so, the fundraising event in South Carolina was easily sold out. He has likability and name recognition. But, he suffers from one of Obama's current problems - he lacks experience. So, what do you think? Does he have a chance of winning the nomination and the Presidency? My short answer. I think he does. I didn't say he'd win it with my vote. But, I think he has a very good chance.
