Hello, "PHOTO PARADE" members and anyone else who might be reading this! Thank you for joining this group and uploading all your photos! 

I created this group dedicated to the posting of many similar (more than 5) photos all in a row, right after one another, parade style!

I know that for me, there's been many times that I've wanted to post a PHOTO PARADE on Gather because it's so much easier to just load an entire theme of photos all at once. Lisa M inspired me with her recent PHOTO PARADEs, first starting with blimps, then going to geese, and recently, cats!

That's when I decided to create this group and asked a lot of you to join with me, to create PHOTO PARADES for everyone on Gather to enjoy with us.

 

This group is moderated and these are the things I'll need from you so I can release your PARADE as quickly as possible:

1) A PHOTO PARADE is a string of 5 or more similar photos, posted all in a row, right after each other. The parade doesn't work very well if someone is clicking through your duck photos and runs into a close-up of your uncle! So, please... when you upload your photos, make sure they all belong in the parade!

2) YOU MUST WRITE A SHORT ARTICLE with the name of your parade in the title and submit it to the group with your photo parade. Please include the title, the approximate amount of photos within the parade and what date you've posted it. I tried to post introductory articles for you, but the photo response has been so overwhelming, I just can't do it myself. 

3) PLEASE LIST "photo parade" AS ONE OF YOUR TAGS.

Hey Faith! What a time for me to be camera(less). My son took it to South Carolina when he moved back in April and I haven't been able to afford another one yet. Just had to have a transmission replaced in my car, as a matter of fact!! But I'll enjoy seening everyone elses!

Will Do - though the article will probably follow the photo uploads and since I have dial-up it can take all morning (or day) to load a parade, so be patient, the article will come. :)

I just wish Gather would let you post more than one photo at a time. It always seems to time consuming to upload photos. :(

I agree with you M.K.. Recently I believe it was the kitchenMage who suggested a way to post strings of photographs following the same theme within one photo check list. Fabulous idea. Kevin V. does have a tutorial on how to program you computer so that it automatically pre-selects certain groups for certain types of photos, so that may cut some time for you in the meantime. I hope this helps!

P.S. Faith, I see that you just modified the instructions for the Photo Parade. No worries. I can pretty much see how this might have overwhelmed you otherwise. I'll work on my articles soon, and post those with links and the new tag to the group.

BTW, did you hear that the photo posting promotion has been extended to July 8? I don't know that for a fact, but heard it through the grapevine. I'm curious to know if you know it to be true.

First thing:

I would like to say sorry for taking a while to get to your article. I have been away from gather for a while and I am finally getting to the 3000 plus emails I have awaiting me on here to go through. so I am starting from the most recent received to the first I ever received.... So now I am finally able to read your piece. Thank you for sending me the link to this article.

Now second thing:

I know you posted this a while ago, but still I think you have made some great ideas and decisions on how to run the group. Hopefully the group has been doing well.
