Why Are You Divorced?

I'm taking yet another public opinion poll. This is the other side to Who Has a Good Marriage.

The question is:

Â List the top three reasons why you divorced, in order perferably.

I would like to know why your marriage did not last. When you made the vow, did youÂ think that you were making a commitment to yourself and your partner to be together forever? If so, what happened to have you break that commitment?

Why did you divorce? In retrospect was it the right thing to do?

i'm dissapointed there aren't any reponses to this article...
only because as a person who will be getting married shortly i constantly fear what happens when things calm down and the "honeymoon ends"

not because I doubt our relationship.. but because... i fear the stats
obviously no one gets married with the intent to get divorced so... why is it so common? And whats a sure fire way around it?

Good questions! I'm not asking these with no intent or out of idle curiosity. I'm lost right now, feel like I'm drowning and looking for answers. The more I get, the broader my view gets. I learn.

Nope. I would love to mass email this to everyone on this site but I have no idea how. I've put it up on other sites and have gotten some interesting responses. More often than not it was emotional abuse, or the match wasn't good to begin with, or the man left for a younger woman. Without exception, those who divorced were happy they did, even though they thought they were marrying for life.

Marriage 1/ She got pregnant to someone else, Marriage 2/ loss of care., I got sick and she didn't care, she had the house in her name from a hospital signing and therefore she needed me no more.... Loss of care. Marriage 3/ She got her visa... bye bye

From one who has been there and done that. Always find a way to never lose respect for your spouse. 2. Don't forget to pay attention to his emotional side.
