Filming his new movie about Adolf Hitler on location, just might become
"Mission Impossible" for Tom Cruise. The leading man wants to lead
production shoots on military bases in Germany. But German Officials have
loudly responded nein danke!!! Why don't they want to collect revenue from
this Hollywood megastar? Apparently, it all boils down to religion. Germany
does not recognize the Church of Scientology, and doesn't want the film to
be shot on location in the "Motherland."
In the movie, Cruise will play Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg, leader of the 1944 plot to assassinate Adolf Hitler using a bomb hidden in a
briefcase.
The film is expected to be released next year. So it may be back to the
Hollywood set to film portions originally slated to be shot in Germany. At
least there, Scientology has been around a while.
So Gather members. What do you think about Germany's refusal to let Cruise
film on location? Let's start a conversation!

I'm all for it - Germany has the right idea.
I agree with Bonnie C. that he probably made someone mad; Cruise's personal-PR skills have needed work for a while now. Maybe he needs to be re-audited, or go through another purification rundown. I mean, I thought clears were supposed to be all, like, you know, perfect and stuff. I mean come on, look at Kirstie Alley!
BTW Duane I applaud and envy your razorly sarcasm.
:)
I would rather not have a movie about Hitler, Or nazism shot in the Fatherland.
I do not blame the German Bundeswehr and Bundesrepublik Deutschland from Denying the use of German Military bases for the sole purpose of renacting any part of World war 2.
In germany, We Forbid the use of Swastikas for anything else for history. i beleve if it is not a documentary, it shouldn't be shot or seen in the Fatherland.
