Most of us on Gather have our favorite groups, our favorite writers and some favorite friends. I hate, detest and abhor most, but not all, inbox invites to read articles. I am always interested in good writing, especially that of poetry. Sometimes a person will tell me the name of a good writer in the comments they make to one of my articles. That's how I discovered the masterful writings of Julian Three. Putting a person's name in with a comment is much better than sending an obnoxious invite to someone's inbox.
There are some people on Gather that greatly impress me with the quality of their writings. I would like to share with you some of these people and I hope you will share with me, in comments, the people you admire on Gather. As for short stories and some poetry, there are three writers I greatly admire on Gather. They are Julian Three, Fred Hose and Magi. As for poetry, Lost Soul, Amanda W and the down to earth verse of Elsie Duggan are among several favorites. Please list a few of your favorites and why you admire them. It can be from any genre.
I constantly have heard people say I can't find an article, or I can't find the person's site (personal page) on Gather. Actually, both of these things are very easy to do simply by using the search box at the very top of the page. Just type in the article's name and click go. If this doesn't work, try variations by typing in part of the article's title, or use a genre like 'humor'. You could try William's humor. There are many possibilities and a high degree of probability you will find the article, or person you want using search.
Maybe you enjoy the articles by one or more people, but only see three articles listed by this (these) person. If you look on the person's main page, with the three articles listed, you will see a space that says 'William Dotani's articles' (of course my page only). To the right of this, in smaller letters are the words 'view all'. Click view all and every article the person has published will come on the page.

so glad you're here. I love your article. It's nice to be appreciated. :}
I have a new game starting and hope you'll check it out. It's to help us get points.
I'll have to think a bit. A new connection that I adore is elizabeth e. She's very humble about her work, but her photo essays are wonderful, and she has a conversational style that just takes you right along with her.
Blessings - S.
If you could read my most recent article about Chris Benoit's death, I would appreciate it....you can find it in my namespace & it is also featured in my group, Email Goodies...thanks...no comment is necessary, just you reading would be great!
I haven't read a lot of Julian Three's posts but his comments are always thoughtful and intelligent. He also wrote probably the funniest comment I have read here on Gather. I even copied it to save it forever! Will post it here later but I am not at home right now.
I really enjoy reading elizabeth e's stories. She talks about her post college years working in Alaska and her current life as a kindergarten teacher. She does fabulous photo essays.
Tonia (who is always out hugging a tree) does wonderful photo essays also. She also has lovely individual photos posted.
Mariana T who hasn't been on much lately is a charming lady. She writes short articles about her life and always invites lots of comments and input from her readers. She has a joyful approach to life that comes through the computer.
Well, I know I am leaving people out and will come back if I think of someone else to list.
I hope to get broadband over the next three weeks which will up my reading.(Gather is too slow on my dial up)
Thanks for this William.
I don't want to say who my other favorites are because I wouldn't want to miss anyone and have them feel slighted. I absolutely adore all of my contacts, even the ones who don't comment.
"Well, bless your heart, when I have days like that - well, not really exactly like that but just generally wretched, vile and crappy days when the level of suckitude is above an 8 - I like to remember what my old Welsh nanny used to say to me, whilst sipping her 'special' juice ( she called it 'wode-kah' if I recall), she would laugh and say, "Gesjpahnee ennechra'll shtey ronish-ba, ke'ROLLEK! Ke rollek!! Hah!!". Then she would spit three times and laugh and laugh until her frail body was wracked with a coughing fit. Then she would lay down for her nap until late that night. I have no idea what the words meant, but they seemed to bring her much comfort and cheer. Or maybe it was the wode-kah. If I find any of that stuff, I'll send it to you! And remember, Tomorrow is another day. "
My favorite writers here are Ron W., Mike Firesmith, Ron B., Charles D. Kris M. and John O., as well as Dame Ruth when she's writing her satire. Poetry is NOT my 'thing' but I do enjoy Ron W. and Dark E. Oh, can't forget the stories that Nic P, Jackie L and Marilyn N write. Love La Bellota's nursing school chronicles... they bring back memories. Then there's Nippy and charles (the only god on gather)... I guess I have a lot of favorites... I do know that a day without Ron W. and Buddy is a grim day indeed... and I'll always stop to read Mike Firesmith and Ron B. when they publish their stories...
I wouls send mass email and would just automatically click names. Sorry
If I annoyed you doing that my friend, I will be careful next time.
Sheila H , when she quits picking and kidding can sit down and write the most awesome poetry. So can Lynn A when she takes the time.
Wilma and I just love everyone and spend our time with our families, then we gather.
One more thing. We all love to roast you just before Thanksgiving and Christmas. We follow your tail feathers, trying to find you. But you hide from us. So we dont put you on the table. You are our favorite Turkey.
