Echinacea By The Cat Cabin

I love echinacea. It flourishes in our crazy climate, blooms for weeks, never needs watering, attracts all sorts of pollinators, spreads like mad, and is pretty much impossible to kill. That's my kind of plant.

Sounds great! So how come I never remember to buy some beginner plants? I horsewoman I know said echinacea cured her dog of some kind of cancer - it grew around the edges of the riding ring and the dog spent the summer muching her way all around the ring. By the end of the summer she was fine. I'd take that with a grain of salt, but it was a great image - dog mowing down every single echinacea around the ring.
