What Would You Take?~Food For Thought

As many of you may have heard, there is currently a wild fire raging in southwest Lake Tahoe, California.  Many buildings (homes) have been lost.  Fortunately, so far, no injuries or deaths have been reported.   Many have been evacuated with only minutes to grab what they could and go.

You are being evacuated from your home.  You have only ten minutes to leave safely.  What would you grab before you left?

After my children, of course, I'd grab my purse. It serves as my filing cabinet, medicine cabinet, and my makeup kit.

And then, if I have time, I'll grab my hubby. =:o)

The kids, the purse, oh yeah, and I guess the hubby! LOL!
1) My husband. 2) My computer (my sweet little baby iMac is easy to carry). 3) The emergency survival kit, which includes some of each of our medications.

Actually, Wes will carry the emergency kit. I'll carry the computer. :)

Well since my grandpa's house is in the fire right now i know i would grab my scrapbooks and my art or even maybe my Jewlry

I'd grab the same bunch of things I grab when we evacuate for tornados. I have a backpack with books, notes, manuscripts and essentials like clothing, radios, cell phone charger diapers, blankets etc in it.

I also take my laptop. In addition I'd take some family photos with us. Those are irreplacable.

I'd love to take pets, but we have too many for the car and some cages are too big and or heavy to tote along.

My grandsons and adult daughter, their safety first and foremost, then my purse. Other than that, I just don't know.

Kids, husband, duh! The only material objects I would save are the photographs.

I had my house burn to the ground as a teenager. I wasn't able to save anything, so really, material possessions mean little to me.

Wow, I've learned something here! Everyone thinks of the photos, but what about the meds? Jeesh, I never thought of that.

I need to rethink this.

I guess meds can be replaced.

I would take my photos (there are boxes and boxes of them) and the computers. I guess if my daughter were home, she'd grab her cats and her Marc Jacobs wardrobe.

ten minute, hmmm, well my kitty for sure, a box of special K bars so I don't crash from diabeties, clothes I could fit into a plastic bag, pictures of my daughter and my husband, my camera if I could find it, my husbands' wallet, I can't remove it from where he left it, but I would take that, and maybe a bottle of two of water and my meds, because I really need them and I would have Billy take his laptop and everything he could carry so I could still Gather, lol.
