Several months ago, we purchased a family membership to the Hershey Gardens (at the quite reasonable price of $60). As this gets us free entry to the Gardens for a full year, we figured we could take you along on our trip today.

This fountain is the first stunning sight you notice walking into the garden. It's difficult to see, but there is a statue of a boy holding up his holey boot on the far side.
The roses are in full bloom. There are lots of different and beautiful varieties. I love the path down the middle of the main rose garden - it looks perfect for a promenade.

The butterfly house is open in the Childrens garden - but don't forget the garden rules!
Butterfly supper doesn't look like much - but I'm sure the butterflies love it!

It's not sunny today, so the human sundial isn't working.
Not everything is in bloom - the daylilies aren't ready yet. We'll have to come back.

The seasonal display garden makes a rainbow to end our visit with lots of color.
There's lots more to see - a japanese garden, the big trees, the ornamental grasses.... but the garden is going to sleep now, so we'll have to come back another day.

Hershey PA is really more of a tourist industry than a factory town now, but a lot of the great things that M.Hershey started are still going on.
So really, in Hershey PA, the jobs haven't been outsourced so much as they've been changed. As a Local, I am HAPPY to support a great town and a good company.
