It is so hard to fit in when everyone knows who they are except me. Add on being a sigle mom raising three boys. I was born in the USA but raised until the age of 7 in Mexico, I am then brought here to the USA to attend school and can't speak a lick of English. Over the years I learn that I don't fit in with the hispanic community because I'm not Mexican enough and I don't fit in with the American community because I'm not American enough. My boys are very American, and I have learned that I am not such an odd ball. The people of East Texas make it easy for me because they are so kind, at least, most of them. I have heard many speakers who were also in my delema and found that all of us that were born here, but not culturally brought up like all Americans in American families go through the same struggles, and now I feel more comfortable in my skin.
