too delectable a scent

in this broken home

 

Today's backyard finch

a soft brown dusk colored one

hovers in cedar

 

deer more aggressive

gone before even glimpsed

so's my wine

Anne, I do like this trilogy of images: moving from the sad, through to freedom of the finch then onto my favourite - your wine suddenly gone like the deer. 10 stars from me.

the first haiku catches the sense of ache fully.

the second is like regaining a foothold on reality.

the third brings me back to the present.

each are strong on their own.
