The Secret is a load of crap

The Secret has been getting an incredible amount of press with its grand promises of wealth and health through positive thinking. I've recently listened to the audiobook and must tell you that this book is a joke and anybody who really buys into this stuff is a fool. The only secret here is that the author is making millions off everyone who was duped into buying this lie. You can read my full review at the link below:

I saw the author on Oprah. People must not be reading much. This is hardly new, the concept has been around for centuries, and is blatantly obvious to anyone with half a brain. Psychology has been writing about this for decades.

The Secret has been around as Kathryn mentioned for literally centuries. "You must take personal responsibility. You cannot change the circumstances, the seasons, or the wind, but you can change yourself. Jim Rohn from "The Success Principles"
Positive thinking, The Secret, Law of Attraction are all very powerful if you apply them in your daily life.

Maybe somebody who previously wrote about this stuff will come forward with a lawsuit...I wouldn't be surprised if that happened.

I'm a bookseller, so I've been selling the books they've ripped for this concept for years. Same idea, shorter book. Hmmmm .....

I read the book...it was alright. Don't know if I buy into it or not...but I figure a little positive thinking never hurt anyone, right?

Positive thinking is great, but a book that tells you that you can eat whatever you want and lose weight is not helping. A book that says you can overcome cancer by refusing to think about it is not helping.
