Coupons are a great excuse to try new products (or at least, new to me products). This week, coupons.com had a coupon for $.80 off two Go-gurt products. I tried the strawberry smoothies and a package of the regular Go-gurt yogurt (in passion punch and red raspberry).

I was pleasantly surprised! I'm pretty neutral on yogurt in general. It's ok, but I don't eat it a lot and it's not my favorite food. The Go-gurt is clearly aimed at kids (this month's promotion was for Shrek 3). There are cheesy jokes on the packaging ("what did Fiona give Shrek after he burped? A royal pardon.") that I mostly could have done without.
But the yogurt itself is pretty good. It's sweeter than most (probably to interest the kiddies) and has less of the acidic yogurt flavor that most yogurts have. I really liked that it comes in nice small packages. (I usually eat less than the average adult. Kid sized portions are appealing.)
It was more expensive than regular yogurt (the 4 pack of smoothies cost $2.50 and the 8 pack of tubes was $2.25 at the local Walmart) and I'm sure that it has a good bit of sugar in it, so I won't be buying it all the time. But every once in a while, it will be a fun and tasty way to get my daily calcium requirements!
