Cindy, I think it takes time to study light and how light affects a subject and lots of self-criticism. A good camera is helpful, but lots of people have much better cameras than mine and produce worse images. I think it's a matter of self discipline. No one taught me how to take pictures and I've had a camera for only a year or so.
they do, don't they? I really like Rhododendrons. they seem as exotic as monkey trees and of course they are, but now so widely scattered and dispersed about the world. I am often reminded of the very beautiful Wagner Wesendonck Lieder. The third of the cycle, Wagner tries to imitate the beauty of a greenhouse and comes very close to doing it. The lieder were the studies for Tristan und Isolde and the music is hauntingly beautiful.
