This week we found three neighborhood yard sales, but the first one in the Minnekadha Vista neighborhood of Minneapolis wore us out. After about 40 sales we were done. There was an enormous about of kids' stuff, but we adults found a few things of interest.
First, the things we did not buy.
Least interesting thing we found:

Foot buffer
price - 50 cents
sold
Okay, we did buy this but we had some confusion here. I asked Janie - in jest - if she wanted a foot buffer, and she said "Sure!" Apparently she thought it was some kind of foot massager. No, it grinds off your corns. The batteries are dead so I assume it's used.
What is it teenage girls say - "Eeeeyyyeeww".
Other things we did not buy:

Nice chairs in need of new upholstery
price - $8 for both
no sale
I'm not that much of a project guy when it comes to things I've never done or would need to pay someone else hundreds of dollars to do. Nice chairs though; very comfortable.

Baby jogger
price - $30
no sale
The temptation is to buy this for hauling garage sale finds, but it's not big enough.
A good value though. I'm assuming these are expensive.

Audio/video devices
price - $3 for your choice
no sale
It looks like a tangled hell and I'm sure the devil already has all of these in wait for me to figure out (if the religious right is indeed right).

Inadventently homoerotic action figure
price - $3
no sale
I asked the kid what his name was, and he said "Max Steel."

My pretty pony
price - $2
no sale
I don't get "cute". Can anyone explain "cute" to me?

Picnic table
price - free
no sale
I already have one, and it too was free. These I know how to fix. Very straightforward devices.

Windows
price - free
no sale
Here's my kind of deal, but I'm not building a cabin right now.

Pella window
price - $30
no sale
A good price, but I'n not even building a nice house.

Marvin door
price - $411 [sic]
no sale
Oh, please.
Could I have a puff?

Bluetooth earpiece
price - $25
no sale
First of all, thank you all for using these instead of a cell phone while you're driving, but when you're done hide the damned thing. The first time I saw one of these I was standing in line at a Red Lobster with my inlaws. The woman in front of us was wearing this with that first-on-my-block sneer. I wanted to ask her for a Big Mac and fries, but I didn't want to make a scene.

Dining room table and 4 chairs
price - $100
no sale
This was the best deal I think we saw all day, but we just didn't have any way to get it home. This is the third such table I've seen in Minneapolis yard sales (two on this day, because a rougher version was available for $40). The scrolling on the chairs is done by hand.

So, that's what we didn't buy. Click here to see what we did buy. It wasn't a week for the record books, but still we got lots of interesting things.

The blue tooth headset is over priced. I got mine on ebay for about $15, new, with a cig lighter charger, instruction booklet, and NEW!
Andrea, I don't know the market on My Pretty Ponies, and I'm so glad.
Angela, that's so funny.
Hey there Nancy! Thanks for stopping in. Maybe you'll see something interesting in tomorrow's post.
The corn remover is indeed an "Ewww" (I wouldn't buy one of these used), but given your mistake it could be ready for use if swabbed with rubbing alcohol. It might make a good heel softener too, especially with the addition of foot lotion.
I would not get the dolls, but the rest I might actually buy. I've had good luck reupholstering chairs (see my photo), and I really like the bones of this pair. For the chair and ottoman in my photo, I did indeed hire the reupholstering out, and it did cost me a few hundred. But I'm planning to take a class up at the neighborhood furniture repair shop soon, with a new project in hand.
The used blue tooth ear piece is another "ewwww," but if it's not a spongy ear piece and could be sterilized then I might consider it -- since my phone is blue-tooth enabled and I haven't bothered to activate the feature nor purchase a headset (which would otherwise set me back $50 to $100).
My Pretty Pony is totally cute and desirable to little girls. They get cute. So do their mothers. Occasionally a doting father learns to get cute. If you have a little daughter, she'd appreciate it. Totally beats those disagreeable Bratz, too.
Dorine, I thought maybe Janie didn't mean for me to buy the foot buffer, and I had it in mind to use it for some very small sanding projects. Repurposing is a major aspect of having luck at yard sales.
Ron, I'm going to post some of my garage sale finds to your group. I'll list the price I paid for these. You may be surprised. Let me know if you would've bought what I list and paid what I paid. :)
Barbie and Max could go shopping.
Jennifer and Karolyn, the table makes me glad I carry a camera to yard sales. I was able to bring it home after all - if only as a picture.
I doubt if I'll have any ROOM to store stuff since my capacity is limited
and is just about at the MAX!
Picnic tables are very useful, Carolyn. Janie and I just had a yard sale and the things were spread on the top and seats of two picnic tables. They worked great.
