Flutter Wing Butterfly Artist Trading Cards
Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) are part of my on going Mail Art exploration.
These are Half Wing or Flutter Wing Butterfly ATCs (Artist Trading Cards). That's how I think of them. Recently I've been exploring alternate ways of interacting with art.
The idea behind these Half Wing ATCs is that the viewer can complete the butterfly by holding the body side of the card up to a mirror. In a sense the viewer becomes doubled but the butterfly becomes complete.
By gently fluttering the wing a magical sense of life beyond our usual perception begins to take place.

thanks Donna - i know you know the fun side of drawing and creating. cool.
thank you De M. - i've sent you a message about ATCs and groups, i hope it makes sense - let me know if you want more info.
thank you Michele - i like what happens with these too.
you're welcome Marilyn - does that mean you'll try it? cool.
thank you Robb - it's a little bit of a departure but i like following where i find something appealing.
thank you Mariana - i just dont get here often enough... now that i've found your fan club site, i'll have to remember to post butterflies there for you. - i hadnt made that renewal connection - i like that, i think you are right. they always have a magic about them that i find often boarders on spirituality for some reason. yikes. it's Sunday already. heck it's only 4:41 AM i still have plenty of Sunday left to take in the beauty - you too.
sharing the light,
thank you Erica - i like working with photoshop too. one of the light versions is what i use most often now. there is so much that can be done that way the work can be very individual. i agree the interacting with this concept is great.
thanks Karolyn - i like exploring color combinations - in this case i liked what happened a lot too and so i explored in a more narrow range on similar pieces i did - using these colors most often.
thank you Bijou - that is one of the most important things to me - to try to do my own work, my own way. if you are seeing/feeling that then i am very pleased - because if i succeed at that i know my work will be like no other - and not even i will have seen it before i do it. - that makes my work fun for me.
thank you Marie - i appreciate you taking the time to look and comment.
