I found a coupon online (I believe it was on coupons.com) for $1.50 off any Patak's product. I've noticed Patak's microwave Indian meals in the grocery a couple of times and had wanted to try them. This seemed like a great chance.
I purchased Patak's Vegetable Tikka Masala. It's described as a medium heat lemon & cilantro curry, suitable for vegetarians.
It microwaves in a minute and a half - great! I'm always looking for quick food.
I paid about $1.50 for it - the coupon ended up being almost half off!
Today, I tried it.
Ok, not the most appetizing looking, but it does look like curry and rice. And I can identify some actual vegetables (potato, corn, green bean...)
I can see some grease though. Kind of odd for vegetarian food.
Medium heat is a little bit off - I would have listed it as mild. I could taste some hot pepper, but not a lot. I could definately tell that it was microwave rice - but then, I've been spoiled by a rice cooker and imported japanese sushi rice.
All in all, it wasn't bad for a microwave dish. It tasted pretty good and was filling. Not the best for you - the back panel lists 940 mg of sodium and quite a bit of fat (12 g) for veggie food. But it keeps for a year in the pantry (no freezer needed) so, I would be willing to keep one on hand for a quick meal.

I have not tried these microwave meals by Patak's, however, I would bet they are better than anything weight watchers has come up with.
I LOVE Patak's jarred sauces, have you tried any of those?
It is always nice to know what to expect when buying!
