Just a quick question for those who may know, cuz I sure as heck don't. Do raccoons fall? I mean,if they aren't sick or anything. I was uploading an image a few minutes ago and caught a glimpse of fur falling, then a *THUD*. At the bottom of the tree in my yard was a HUGE raccoon lying on the ground. I thought it was a cat at first, but when it stood, and I had a clearer look,I saw the telltale circles around the eyes and the adorable stubby legs and paws. It took a few moments to compose itself, then headed back up the tree. I told the neighbors about it,because they have two small dogs and a young child, but I just don't know if falling is something unusual for these critters. Anybody know?

How he doesn't have internal injuries is beyond me.
I have never seen one climb way up in a
tree. There raccoons along the Front
Range in CO too, never saw one in a tree.
All these raccoons scurried around on the
ground and lived in burrows like badgers
and woodchucks. Not being a cat nor a
squirrel, it probably knocked the stuffing
out of itself falling out of the tree!
whew...
