Gather can be a scarey place at times, and after what happened to me early this morning, I'm thinking about leaving for the sake of my own health and well being. I promise that this article isn't intended as satire. The following events actually took place. The times are listed in the Eastern Time Zone, just as Gather lists the times of the posts.
Somewhere around 1:00 AM , Sandy Knauer and I were exchanging comments on one of her latest threads. I left my last comment on her thread at 1:57 AM. By no means was I feeling tired or woozy. I probably had a good hour left in me before bedtime. However, shortly after I left that comment, I found myself in the floor with my nose in one of the sneakers that I left my by computer desk. When I finally got myself together, I looked at the clock, and the time was 3:00 AM, and I had sharp pains in my left forehead and right knee.
Still confused about why I was laying in the floor with my nose in one of my sneakers, I stood up and turned on the lights. That was when I noticed that the right side of my computer desk was busted up. Then I took a look at my right knee and I noticed that the knee of my sweatpants was ripped and somewhat bloody. I went to the restroom to inspect the damage to my knee. Once I turned on the lights and looked into the mirror, I noticed that not only did I have a cut on my knee, but I also had quite a nasty bruise on my left forehead.
Oh great I thought. Now I have to go to work tomorrow with this nasty bruise on my forehead and no explanation as to how it happened. I could just hear my co-workers asking questions such as " What happened, did you run into a brick wall? " or " Hey Tim, who kicked your butt? "
Still dazed and confused about what happened, I decided to go to bed and sleep it off. After all, this may have been just a dream. However when I woke up later this morning, the blood on my right knee and the bruise on my left forehead were indeed reality. How did this happen? The last thing that I rememberd was posting that last comment on Sandy's thread.
I fired up the coffee maker and drank a couple of cups. Once the coffee kicked in, I logged on to Gather and clicked on my comments. Then I noticed that I left two comments after my last comment on Sandy's thread. One was on one of Selene's threads at 2:00 AM, and the other was on a thread by Ariell K at 2:09 AM, neither of which I remember posting.
I'm still not sure what happened. If I fell asleep at my keyboard, why didn't I feel it when my head hit my computer desk? Did I just doze off, then the impact of my head hitting my computer desk knocked me out? Considering that I wasn't feeling sleepy, did I just black out or faint ? How did the left side of my computer desk get busted? How did I get the cut on my right knee?
Again, none of this is intended as satire. All of this actually happened.

I think the sneakers might be the problem. Put those things outside instead of next to the computer.
Sorry, I do have sympathy. But you aren't going anywhere.
I know that my job here, even though I don't know who you are, is to beg you not to leave. However, anyone who is being possessed by spirits and having amnesia probably should leave Gather and seek professional help.
I accepted your re-connection request, however I expect that you'll take it back and possible take it back along with koocking the crap out of me after I break the following news to you.
Selene is my new internet girlfriend. I've slowly fallen in love with her over time. So far, she and I have been able to keep this secret from her husband, but I'm sure that it will only be a matter of time before her husband will be knocking on my door.
Seriously, this actually happened. Infact, I was hoping that someone else had experienced such an incident and they could provide me with some advice. I forgot to add that I almost blaked out while driving the other day. Perhaps I have a medical condition that someone else has experienced. Sometimes I'm full of energy, but at the same time my mind tends to drift off. Also, I feel asleep during a meeting at work a few days ago while I was full of energy.
This could be as simple as a an ear infection but if you are driving down the road and black out you could not only kill yourself but someone else.
PLEASE, go see a doctor today!!!!!!!!!!

And don't forget to get the prostate checked also, LOL. I hear if you ask the Doctor to use 2 fingers, he'll give you a second opinion at no extra charge. LOL.
I've also been taking steroids because of a skin rash, that may be causing the problem. I'll start with my Dermatologist first.

Since you mentioned Selena, I think it is possible that her husband was already on to you and had an alien hypnotize you through your internet. Then her husband sneaked in your window, crept up behind you, and smashed your desk while knocking you out! You did not know it cause he used his Vulcan death grip but loosened up when he realized that he would end up in prison if he did not stop. You had passed out by that time anyway and did not know it was him. Then he left two comments on your gather! And I bet you any money, he sent out a bunch of nasty emails from your email account, to all your friends and co-workers! Your boss is probably totally pissed and just waiting for you to walk through that door! He received a picture in his inbox, showing you and his wife naked in his bed! And you did not even have the decency to send the kids off to the babysitter!
