Regents Name Purdue Provost Sally Mason UI's 20th President

President Sally Mason is the University of Iowa's 2nd female president. The University of Iowa was the first Big Ten institution to have a woman president (Mary Sue Coleman).

Now, The University of Iowa has announced its 2nd, Sally Mason, another first in the Big Ten.

"The state Board of Regents voted unanimously today in support of Sally Mason as the 20th UI president. Mason - former Purdue University provost - will assume her new position August 1. Mason also holds the position of a full professor with tenure in the biology department and will earn over $560,000 a year in salary, compensation, and performance pay."
