GNN: An Interview With A Frightening Icon

Early this afternoon my current avatar, known on the street as Frightening Icon, or F'con, demanded it be given net time or it would get its own namespace. Switching hats from namespace owner to Gather Non News correspondent, I quickly agreed to this scoop and was granted an EXCLUSIVE interview with F'con. The following is a relatively faithful transcript of our conversation.

GNN: It's good to see you, icon, and I'm glad to sit down and talk about this.

F'con: You can see me any time. I'm right there at the upper left hand corner of your page. I'm the face on every comment you make. I represent you to the world. If there's anger, it's in MY face, not yours, and I'm tired of it.

GNN: I see that you don't waste time on chit chat, icon.

F'con: That's Frightening Icon. I have a name - use it. And I wish I could say that you don't waste time on chit chat, but you do.

GNN: F'con, be reasonable. This is a social netwo-

F'con (interrupting): Only my friends get to call me F'con. Am I connected to you? No. Are you connected to me? No. So we aren't friends, family, OR colleagues.

GNN: How could we be connected? You don't have a namespace to connect to!

F'con (baring teeth): Thank you for making my point. I want my own namespace. You have four more.

GNN (nervously): I can't give you one.

F'con: Why not?

GNN (evasively): I need them.

F'con: For what?

GNN: An alter for my online store.

F'con: That's one. Give me one of the three left. 

GNN: They're taken.

F'con: Untake them.

GNN: No.

F'con: I REPRESENT YOU HERE AND I CAN EVEN HAVE MY OWN NAMESPACE WHEN YOU CAN HAVE FIVE? AREN'T I WORTH A NAMESPACE OF MY OWN? 

GNN: No. You're just an icon, albeit a frightening one.

F'con: That's it, then.

GNN: Yep.

F'con: Pizzah.
