This quilt is my latest labor of love. I honestly love quilting. Unfortunately I get really lazy when it comes to piecing and that happened with this one. I got about a third of the way done and just didn't have the energy to force myself to finish it. So I struck a deal with my friend, Joan D. (who also posts here on Gather). She would complete the piecing for me, and I in return would complete the hand quilting on one she had stalled out on.
This quilt is entirely hand-quilted including sewing on the wide border around the quilt. I wan't being artsy, simply couldn't find where my daughter had stored the sewing machines and I was impatient to get it done. I don't do machine quilting. I have nothing against it for others, but don't see the point. I'm quite proud of my quilting. It's very fine stitches and very even. I am quite happy with the way this turned out.
This deal worked for me and as a result this one is finished and today sometime I pull her quilt out of the storage chest at the foot of my bed, smooth it out all nice and pretty, get it on my lap hoop and begin taking stitches. That leaves only one additional full sized quilt plus about five wall hangings I want to finish.
