I am a mother of two little girls (9 and 6). I find it amazing how different I seem about my parenting strategies than other mothers and fathers I know. So my question to you is this.....
If you have children, what do you let them watch on television? What movies do you let them watch? Do you pay attention to ratings? Do you watch the movies before you let your children watch them? Do you put a time limit on their television viewing?
As I said, I am seriously curious and would really just like to hear opinions and how others handle this situation.
Thanks all!

We already don't have tv service, and probably never will. It's an extra expense that we really don't need and in the 10 years since I stopped watching, I've never missed it.
We do keep movies, and will have video games in the house. Yes, there will be a time limit on video game playing and internet. Ratings haven't been discussed yet, but I'm sure there will be some (but not many) restrictions, mainly having to do with having a parent with the child when they're watching certain things. Both of us are against censorship and feel that children have to know what's coming at them to be able to deal with it.
We are very strict about what we let them watch. They don't get to watch things we watched when we were kids.
We let them watch some Disney Channel (we all love Kim Possible), and some surprising shows on there that actually have lessons about life that I didn't think would (like Raven).
We let them watch much of the kids shows on PBS (except Barney).
We let them watch most Disney cartoon movies.
There are specific websites we let them go visit and specific games we let them play.
Everything they watch on TV or do on the computer has to be approved by us.
Nothing too violent (no Power Rangers, no TMNT, no Transformers, no Justice League), nothing that mentions sex too blatantly or foul-ly (?).
