So
me call it arson but I call it insanity.
A few years ago, the ship was sailing the Great Lakes. It was used for festivals, movies, photo-ops and all things fun and/or noble.
Then it’s upkeep became too much. You see it was not an exact replica; it was a metal boat with wood siding so it looked like a replica. It was retired.

For it’s retirement, it was moved to a small, protected cove beside a local hotel and eatery. This hotel also has a marina and it is not uncommon for people to stop by in they boats for lunch or dinner.

If you travel the QEW (Queen Elizabeth*s Way) between Buffalo or Niagara Falls and Toronto you can see what I show in these photos because the highway is very close to this ship in the community of Jordan, Ontario.
In the middle of the night, one or more idiots either took a boat or swam to this ship, dowsed it with gasoline, lit a match and left. I don’t believe the mystery has ever been solved.

Insanity. Isn’t that what it would take to do something as useless as this?

Do you know if it was the replica of the Christmas Tree Ship?
It could be, and if it is, this may well be the last chapter in a saga that goes back nearly 100 years.
That is too bad!
This looks like the quintessential pirate ship!
You've got a good knack at bringing the reader to all sorts of emotions and transmitting information with just a few words.
they did it and did it
all too well
an instant of whim – a decision
and then - decimation
stupid, stupid men
build it all up then tear it down
again and, again and
again
Such a sad refrain - thanks for sharing.
