Obama

I'm pulling for Barack, he's from Illinois Chicago to be exact and I'm on board. I believe that he can go all the way. I also believe that the Republicans will want to face Hillary and her 200 lbs punching bag than deal with Obama anyday of the week. That's why they are rooting for Hillary.

Oh, how right you are. They have been saying that from the beginning. CSPAN and the Republicans they interview on there have been saying that from the first day (Feb 10, 2007) Barack announced. They want a "go" at Hillary, and they can't wait. They feel Barack is unbeatable. Have you been looking at the polls. Hillary loses to them. Barack is either ahead of the Repubs and in most cases, beating them. Why? Because he will get Republican crossovers and Independents that Hillary doesn't stand a chance to get. I watch CSPAN and hear these diehard Republicans saying they thought they would NEVER vote Democrat, but "this Obama fellow..." Blah blah blah (and on they go) (LOL). They see the sincerity, the honesty, the values....

Joe, I have written a book. It's called ObamAmerica Generation, USA. I haven't figured out whether I am going to publish it online or through the traditional method, but the Library of Congress should be sending me the papers very soon now. I know I should publish withing the first four months, or else, so I am within days of running out of time. Pressure :(

I think the Republicans would also be thrilled to see Obama win the nomination. He's idealistic, but inexperienced. I think an experienced Obama would be a force to be reckoned with, but an inexperienced nominee - think about it.

I think the toughest to beat out of the democratic choices doesn't have a chance at winning the nomination (Bill Richardson). His resume is impressive - even if I don't agree with all of his politics. He has foreign policy experience, he did a great job managing his state as governor, and he's the only nominee that wants to bring all of our troops home immediately. For goodness sake, he's been the secretary of energy.

Bill Richardson has experience coming out of his ears - and doesn't have a chance at being the presidential nominee. Obama has very little experience, and might actually end up being the nominee. Although, I like Obama, I can't see his nomination as a good thing.

If we're not choosing based on resume, what do we chose based on - winning personality and a good stump speech.

Hey V, you make an excellent point. You know, I was in politics at one time, but got out because I didn't like the dirt. But I got into another kind of politics -- working for one of the largest companies in the world and man, did they train us to SELL. To them, selling and customer service was money in their pockets. I learned more from them than I EVER learned in college. One of the things I learned that I always take with me, well two things: 1) Always surround yourself with people (experts) who know more than you do. Have them at arm's reach. (Expert advisors). That's what Reagan did. 2) When you don't know something, and there is no one around who does, you had better make sure you can (reference people) get the answer within minutes.

You know what, Vicki? It worked. That company (by the way, it was the OLD -- and I do want to emphasize OLD A.T&T -- and they knew their stuff. No comment on the "new A.T&T.

After I learned their craft I NEVER had an unhappy customer again -- never, because their methods WORKED. I have noticed OBAMA is utilizing those same methods. On Larry King even Bill Clinton had to admit he was a brilliant politician, BUT (here's comes the "but") Bill thought the campaign trail was long and hard and that Obama had better be ready for the long haul.

I believe Obama IS long-winded, and we will see. :)

Well, Nalita. He's young. So, I believe he's long-winded. You know that was actually a complaint against Fred Thompson, I believe. They said he didn't have the stomach for politics. He didn't like the long hours or just about anything else about it. So, this new emergence of his is kind of surprising to me.

I had a supervisor who always made the same comment about surrounding herself with people who were "smarter" than she. I like your phrasing better. Surround yourself with expert advisers.

I hope that works for Obama. It hasn't worked for Bush. He surrounded himself with his father's staff, initially. Well, if you don't include the ones he brought with him from Texas.

I just want someone who I believe will do the job and do it well. Good help is hard to find. I consider the benefits of outsourcing Congress daily. But, hey. Now that I think about it - Obama has been having discussions with Colin Powell. What do you think is behind that?

Smart, very smart. If Mr. Bush had listened to Powell instead of Rumstead, Cheney, and Rice about this war, cooler heads would have prevailed. I was outside working in my back yard for a little while and I always seem to get revelations while working in my yard. Here is one: The Republicans don't seem to have much of a poker face this election. Something -- SOMETHING is going on and the DNC had better find out what it is. I am not talking Watergate-type finding out, but they had better do something, because something is up. I think they have something either on Hillary or Bill. They are just TOO eager for her to get the nomination. Of course, it wouldn't do to spring it now, oh no. That would spoil the plan. Wait until she gets the nomination, and then spring it -- wide open -- let the cat out of the bag and let ALL hell break loose. What a fiasco if it is something big that would cost the Democrats the election. Oh yeah, they can't sit still, want Hillary to get this nomination. Something is up.

Obama, on the other hand, is meeting or beating them in the polls. Apparently they haven't found their mud on him -- I don't think they will. He played it smart and put it all out there in the beginning. But, they are looking, hoping, thinking, praying, even planning, scheming, and sending in confederates to lure him into SOMETHING. I don't think he will take the bait, though.

LOL, and I thought I took politics seriously.

Now I can LOL. NOW. But, certainly not when I was in it. There were many sleepless nights, and questioning myself as to how I let myself get into this circus. Remember I told you I was once into politics? And that was only at the university level. Hey, the local politicians had their dirty hands into us, though. After all, we were going to be the "future leaders of America" (according to them) I am really LOL now! Plus, we had deep ties with the students at UC Berkeley and they were at bad as we were. If politics was as evil at that level, what's it like for real, I mean the Big Boys and Girls? (rhetorical question.) I didn't want to keep secrets and lie by omission, but there were some things we weren't permitted to tell. (You know, those closed-session meetings to discuss privileged information to not be disclosed to the student body at large?) So, I couldn't. I am a very honest person; I wouldn't to, but I couldn't.

I couldn't even look at myself in the mirror in the morning, and I am serious. I couldn't look at my student constituents in the eye. I couldn't WAIT for my term to end. But it gave me an insider's understanding as to what games are played and just how dirty it gets, and believe me, ANYTHING GOES, ESPECIALLY sticking it to your constituents. After all, their only purpose is to pay the bills and serve as your Party's political power base and pawns. I am not trying to be cruel, but that's how it is.

I saw this post, and I was like...YES

I'm a supporter of Barack Obama, and it's nice to see that there are others, too, especially after the recent Congressional elections. I hate how everyone says bad things about him that aren't true, like how he's a Muslim, that he hasn't done anything, etc. Those people are just ignorant.

Barack Obama has done so much for this country. Health care for the poor, health insurance for college students, and much more. People think that the economy's gotten worse, but IT HASN'T. Our economy has gotten a lot better, and it's going to be a slow hill to climb, but he has a big problem to fix, and that's our deficit. GO BARACK!

I have been a Democrat all my life. I have changed parties. I did not vote for BO last election and won't be voting for him now. If I knew this site was all Democrats I would not have joined. BYE BYE.
