Last week I headed over to Borders in Hyannis MA for weekly writing/drawing without Gynn. Miranda was there, and I met a couple of guys who were working on designing a game and chatted with them for a bit.
This week Gynn and Miranda are both planning on attending. Haven't heard from Lorie or Lynette yet, and they two gentlemen I met last week might stop by.
Goals From Last Week: Script the first scene of issue two of my comic book series, Perils of Picorna, and work on organizing notes for that series.
Results Last Week: Finished the script work that I'd been hoping to get done, but didn't do much on the notes. I went over the scripting I had done with my co-author Amy last night and she seemed pleased with what I had. The work on the notes still needs to get done, but I have other priorities for tonight.
This Week's Goals: The deadline for my zine, Caravan, is rapidly looming, so I need to devote some work to that. I'd like to organize the material I have written so far and get three pages of Caravan laid out. I'd also like to write one poem tonight
Question of the week: Have you ever had your work published in a paying market?
I have not. I've had plenty of publications that pay in free copies and the like, but I have yet to actually be paid for my writing. Part of the reason for this is that I have not been fixated on this as a goal, so I have not put huge amounts of effort into submitting to paying markets.
How about you? If you're local, join us at Borders every Tuesday night for writing/drawing. If you're not in the area, leave a comment. Are you writing tonight? What are your goals? What's your answer to the Question of the Week?

Our group is just an informal one, although some Borders locations (and other stores) have more formal writing groups. You're grammar seems fine to me, and there's no better reason to write than to write just for you!
Yes, I've actually gotten real money for my wriitng. Mind you not big bucks but I've managed to be paid for three essays. I've also been paid for bringing my play LUMPs to several towns.
My greatest success has been in preenting writing workshops.
