Today, I finally could take it no longer and insisted that I go with Deb to see the horses. It had been four days and it was time. Also, I just needed to get out of the house. I am healing, slower than my patience would like, but healing none the less. Pain meds are still necessary but not needed as frequently. It is rare for me to be a passenger but it is mandatory at the moment. On the ride home I decided to finally do something that I've wanted to do for quite some time, take photos of the ride between our house and the horse pasture. It is a bit of a hike, about 50 miles, but well worth the trouble as they are in an excellent situation, one that we were unable to find closer to home. A saving grace is that the drive we need to make is through the mountains and is one that is scenic and calming.
All of these photos were taken from a moving car, so please excuse the fuzzy parts. I invite you to just sit back and enjoy one of the best drives in Arkansas.

There, now wasn't that just lovely? Y'all come back now.

Madame D - yes, of course you can drive.
Nancy - it's absolutely my pleasure to have you come along - anytime!
Liz - you are too kind - hard not to do well when working with such great material.
See Deb, this is why I usually drive. It is a little startling to look over and see the speedometer slowly creeping past 80. And you have given away my secret - I was shooting constantly and these 12 shots are the best of about 200. That is the beauty of digital cameras - if it doesn't come out - just delete.
I love taking pics of countryside
Wow, it's very green and lush there ... beautiful countryside. Love the photos and well done taking them inside a moving car.
Thanks for great ride Tonia and Debbie.
Love and blessings - S.
NW Ark. is a beautiful part of Ark.:) My mom and Mike live there and we always love the scenery there! A big difference than the farm country I live in SW MN.
You're lucky you have this scenery for your ride. I have to drive 40 miles one way several times a week to care for my parents. 40 miles down the most boring stretch of interstate in Ohio. No wonder I speed.
You know, it took me a while to figure out that you weren't talking about Boston, Massachusetts! Now I know your Arkansas area a little better and am no longer confused.....I love the rocky cliffs here - a very different color than NH granite. Thanks for a lovely ride and good healing....
Guess that shows what I know about geography. I'm sure there are Boston mountains in Arkansas.
My favorite shot would have to be the first one, with that subtle glide from deep green to dusky blue. So inviting. I can almost hear music when I think of this area, so lush in rich color.
