Again, sorry to be so businesslike about such a source of fun as Tournament of Pets, but not much needs to be said about all these amazing pets, anyway, so here goes the second matchup today, another North Bracket matchup: #2 Molly vs. #15 Charlie...
Molly:
James B.
Why Molly is the best:
They say that dogs are man's best friend, and that definitely goes for bulldogs.
I was originally purchased by Mariel A to be her pet after she graduated college. I found her to be an adequate owner. She is nice and always made sure I was walked and had plenty to eat. In fact when she would go to work she would often leave behind leather shoes and cook books for me to eat while she was gone, that was always very nice of her.
One day after several months of being Mariel's pet she brought home James B. Ahh, it was heaven. She tried to hog James all to herself, but she doesn't have that bulldog determination. I climbed on the couch, even though I wasn't allowed on the furniture and walked right onto James' chest and into his heart when I spent the afternoon licking James' face. Nothing made me happier than when James and Mariel started dating regularly. Soon I was able to spend time with James on an almost daily basis. That is when he ceased being James and became my daddy.
The fall of 2000 saw us spending Sunday afternoon's together watching the Giants make their improbable run to the Super Bowl. I was the one who consoled daddy after the Giants lost to the Baltimore Felons.
Since then we have spent our best times in the creek which is behind our house. I love running and jumping, splashing and playing during the warm weather. I would love it too in the winter but daddy says it is too cold for my little paws. Daddy learned that I prefer to play catch with certain rules, he learned the rules and we play all of the time, Mariel has never been able to learn the rules. Daddy taught me the joys of squirrel and bird hunting. When we go on our walks he points out the birdies and squirrels and I chase them. He lets me off of my leash and I go after them. Unfortunately birds and squirrels appear to have mystical powers, they disappear from me every time we get near a tree. Hmm, it's as if they transport themselves into the tops of the trees and hide. In my eight years I haven't caught a bird or a squirrel, but I have captured several leaves, plastic trash, and pieces of paper. My determination is strong and one day I will solve the mystery of the disappearing birds and squirrels.
As you can see from my picture I am a bruiser. This photo shows off that my true nature is a Harley girl. I love chewing on raw hide and showing the world how tough I am. Not only should I win the pet contest but my daddy should win Pet Owner of the Millennium!
Charlie:
Owner: Carmel M.
Congratulations its a GIRL!!!! Charlie is the cat that was meant to be with me. She is just shy of a year old and weighs a whopping ten pounds. I went to buy fish supplies at my local Petco and fell in love with this shy big eyed black MALE kitten. Yes, I said Male. The Petco people told me Charlie was male the SPCA people said Charlie was a male also. The SPCA has a very hard time placing black cats so I thought ok, good a black male kitten who is quiet will be a good fit in my home that has two older female cats (sadly at the time one this writing my beloved Tedi died at the age of 18). So two weeks after Charlie has come completely out of his shell I received a letter from the SPCA that states we are sorry we made a small mistake and gave you the wrong paper work on your kitten. The first thing I noticed when I opened the paper work was Sex: FEMALE
What? Ok I checked, he’s a girl. I went back to Petco and laughing told the clerk there what had happened and her face fell. OMG we could have placed her many times over nobody wanted a male. So I think so type of divine providence came into play as far as Charlie is concerned. She was truly meant to be with me.
