Listed below are 5 statements, four that are TRUE and one that is FALSE. Your job is to guess which one is false. After the first 10 guesses, I will come back and reveal which statement is the FALSE one.
NEXT, I tag five people to play the game and likewise pass it on to others. Each tagged person should be notified by email, with a copy of your Truth or Dare's web address for your article.
My Truth Or Dares:
Back in college I once competed against Jim Belushi in a Speech To Entertain event in a Speech tournament.
- I was an avid boxing fan back in college and worked out with a guy who later got a metal in Boxing (I can't remember if it was SIlver or Bronze) in the Olympics.
- My granddad on my dad's side was technically a bigamist--married to two women at the same time. My dad had half-brothers and half-sisters that he didn't officially know about.
- I am seriously addicted to high caffeine energy drinks like Monster and Rockstar. I drink three or more cans a day in the summer.
- I live in a house built during the civil war by a prominent attorney who wrote up the agreement that established the first major barbed wire manufacturer. Construction of the house was delayed so that the owner could attend Abe's funeral. The house has been handed down from generation to generation of the same family from the time it was built.

I'm going to go with.....#5. It's a great story, but technically doesn't fit. It may be true but if it was built during the civil war, then how was construction delayed AFTER the civil war??? hmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Without that slip, I'd say #2. I don't see Dale a boxing fan. He's a lover, not a fighter (not that I know from PERSONAL experience!). I could see him doing the (not sure if it was a Silver or Bronze) to try and throw us off.
Know what? I'm gonna say #2.
LOL
Final Answer? D'oh.....he'd better vote on mine.....
#5

1) True. I actually got my Bachelor's in Speech and was on Speech team 4 years in college. I wasn't all that good at it, and later ended up in computers, which was a more natural niche for me. Jim Belushi was at College of DuPage at the time and I was at Rock Valley. I was right out of high school and I think he was quite a few years older--probably did something else and then came back to school. He was out of my league at speech to entertain, but we did have a couple of guys on our team that could give him a run for his money.
2) True. I got seriously into boxing during one of the Olympics and followed it for several years. One of the guys at work was also into boxing, and his 14 year old son was a very good amateur. He invited me to work out with his son and group of other teenagers, which I did. I was just out of college and in the best shape I've been in my life, but these guys were totally out of my league in terms of being in shape. Their warm-up was tough enough that I was sore just from that for a week--a hundred old-style sit ups, push ups, etc until I was ready to drop, then working out on the heavy bag. After three 'rounds' of three minutes each on the heavy bag I could barely keep my hands above my waist.
The guy's son did go on to medal in the Olympics, though I had lost touch with him by then. I also lost interest in boxing, partly because I started realizing what it did to boxers in terms of brain damage. I am still actively into martial arts and love to spar. I sometimes still watch Ultimate Fighting Championships, though with a mixture of fascination and horror. I can be very competitive, but I don't like hurting people.
3) True. Black sheep in the family. Really messed up his life and my dad's life.
4) False. (Way to go Cathy)! I drink Monster, but rarely. I think I could easily get addicted to them but they seriously mess with my body. If I go to karate after I drink one I just don't have much endurance and I overheat quickly.
5) True. I accidentally threw people off by the way I phrased it. Construction was almost done when Abe was assassinated, but the completion of the house was delayed. By the way, some of the furniture in the house is older than the house, and came out from the east by wagon. The attic is full of little treasures like old glass photos, a powder horn, and books from the mid-1800s.
Good job all.
