It's the final moments of the Sopranos. Tony and Carmella are seating in a diner (weird since usually they eat at more upscale Italian restaurants or at some point sushi place) and while nervously awaiting the arrival of Meadow and A.J. "Don't Stop Believing" by Journey is prominently playing in the foreground/background. As the door opens to the diner with new customers, viewers, I'm sure, worry with Tony for who might arrive through the doorway. Tony is visibly on edge. The tension mounts. Meadow has difficulty parallel parking the car, but finally hurries across the street and as she opens the door to the diner.....black. That's the end. That's the end?
What do people think? Are you satisfied with the resolution of Tony and Junior and of A.J.'s new found desire to "save the world", Carmella's continued interest in housing development, Meadow's rationalization for her public service/law career, and of course, Phil's long overdue demise. Tony's lawyer makes it clear that an indictment is nearly inevitable, so are we to understand that an unpleasant trial is ahead and that will be the end? Or will there be more? A movie? A new series? The Sopranos #2 starring the ever charming Anthony Junior?
Also, what did you think about how Tony dumped Dr. Melfi suddenly and we never see her again too?
I very much want to hear your thoughts!
