Allears.net has posted this bit of info in the newletter, this info they have is from unconfirmed sources.
I am sharing this with you all, incase you have not seen this. I have also heard this rumour, I'll say rumour as this can not be confirmed as truth as yet. But knowing Disney, it's probably true.
========
"A new program is being implemented for all reservations beginning January 1, 2008.
Pricing and rates for 2008 will become date-specific -- that is, you will pay a nightly rate based on that date, based on the season it falls under.
For example, if you reserve the first night of your stay under the value season and nights two through five under peak season, you will no longer be able to maintain the value season rate for the entire reservation.
In addition, premium rates will now be applied for dates considered to be premium, such as weekends. In theory, you could pay a different price for each night of your stay. On the bright side, you no longer have to split reservations and recheck into your hotel if your stay includes multiple seasons. No word on how this may affect Annual Passholder rates. When making room only reservations for 2008 you will be given a total price for your stay, unless you specifically ask for the rate for each night. Package pricing will not be broken down by day. We'll have more details as they are confirmed."
I feel for people who's vacations actually are a few days at Value Season & a few days at Peak Season. The Peak rates are steep. I had also heard that the "date-specific rates" were being rolled out in Jan. 2008, so this is probably true.
And as in the past the ticket prices probably will increase in 2008.
While I agree WDW is a wonderful vacation, we now go to WDW one week less a year.
I am Annual Pass for Universal, but not WDW. We were AP for WDW for years, then they had to go and cut pass hold benefits.
For a family of five a week's soon may be out of many people's reach.
I do wonder if that is what Walt Disney would have wanted?

I agree Jeff.
Me either Amanda. But peak dates have changed in the past. And now there is really not a slow time, at WDW as there used to be years ago.
Karolyn even the Florida resident discounts rates are high.
We paid $119.50 for All-Star Music once peak but Florida resident rates, when my husband's family all was visiting WDW, we stayed two nights. Never again. If I have to go during peak times belive it or not I use Priceline, and select Walt Disney World vacinity, I have been lucky with my hotels;-)
Amanda you are right about the weeks after Labor day, it is very slow.
The last time we went to WDW even with Fast-Pass we had 20 minute waits. When we mentioned the wait times, we were quoted the standard response "weel the regular line is 160 minutes, at least you didn't have to wait in that line."..LOL!!
