Ron Hall (www.erroneous.gather.com)
Ron Hall, whose resume includes "cut firewood 1980-1986" now has a desk job writing federal grants and doing fundraising research. About his writing, he says, "My favorite writing projects include putting together what I call "intelligible instruction manuals". I find the shorter something is, the harder it is have it make sense, but the chances are much better it's going to get read. Prior to Gather, I had notebooks I had written in, but never thought of myself as a writer. Along came this supportive arena filled with other people who like to write, and that gave me the encouragement I needed to write seriously. This new writing group ramps up the excitement, and I'm honored to be involved in the project.
Ron will feature and moderate work in the Writing Essential on Sundays
Gather is in the process of finalizing two additional Member Editors. We will be sure to share that information with you as soon as those positions are filled!

Great choice of editors.
Jerry R
Devin, my guess is that the two open spots will be filled by writers who can moderate on Mondays and Tuesdays. There's a magazine writing group on Gather whose moderator I would love to see represented in this list. I'm also managing editor of a journalism magazine (who's spent the past decade as a staff reporter or freelancer for such newspapers as The Seattle Times and The Oregonian, and would be very interested in adding a day focused on journalism. There are some great contributors here on Gather who already cover the behind-the-scenes perspectives on news in the news, and a featured group covering this would be fabulous.
That's my two cents. Thank you for the update Pam.
It should be noted that the these members are not compensated for this new role, and have taken on this responsibility simply out of their love for the craft of writing and for the community.
Way to Go!
Can we post anything creative any day of the week or do with have to post, say, poetry on specific days?
It would be encouraging if there was a non-USA editor, in recognition that Gather is a world-wide community. I'd like to suggest Carolyn Madden from Australia.

It would be nice if you did an update on the new Writing Essential Editors.
