Sometimes in life, it is the little things that matter. For instance, I don't need a child to buy me some fancy gift, it is way nicer to have them tell me they are really glad I was their teacher this year or make me a card. When it comes to my husband, I would much rather him make the bed or do the dishes just because than I would have him buy me something fancy. After all, anyone with money can buy me things, but only those that truly love or care for me can think of something little that will matter. Yes, it is the little things that matter in life.
Another example is with my brothers. I don't need to hear from them every single day or get a ton of praise for being a good aunt to their children, if only once in awhile they say something nice or do something for me. My big brother is great about it. He will see something he knows I would like such as a book at a yard sale and then give it to me when he sees me. My little brother on the other hand, god bless him, will buy me a HOT DOG COOKER that costs $45 because he didn't know what else to get me. I want to say to him, what you don't know is ANYTHING about me because you don't bother, but I don't, I say "Thanks" and return the hot dog cooker to the store.
I guess with the school year ending and me reflecting on things, I am realizing that indeed it is the little things that matter to me. What about to you?

My son was maybe 3 when i took him christmas shopping one year. He had "his" money, and a listwho he waned to buy presents for.
We were in the dime store when he spotted a JUMBO package of sponges! They were all bright colors and there must have been 50 of them is this bag . Well, that was what he wanted to buy for his grandma, there was NO changing his mind, and we left the store withthe worlds largest bag sponges. He wrapped them up and waited patiently for christmas day. My mom being the AWESOME grandma she is opened the package with more excitement than you can imagine, and was ecstatic over that package of sponges!! You see, the funny thing is, my mom HATES sponges! They Breed bacteria and germs don't ya KNOW!
Anyway, it made his christmas, and life went on!
One day last week i wnt in to my mom's utility room for her and ya know what is sitting there on a shelf??? Yep more than 1/2 that bag of sponges, so carefully chosen with love by a 3 year old boy for his grandma, 1992!! LOL
