It is well known that the illegal immigrant advocates have a never ending supply of cards up their sleeves in defense of illegal immigrants. They play these cards in hope of gaining support from some ignorant bleeding heart who just happens to be reading their rants. And just when you think they have played all of the cards that are up their sleeves, out come a couple more.
Of course they play these cards in an attempt to gain support from the bleeding hearts as well as playing a guilt trip on those of us who are opposed to illegal immigration. Below are a few examples of the cards that these illegal immigrant advocates play.
1: The race card. Yep, you've got it. Anyone who is opposed to illegal immigration is a racist. Since we have illegal immigrants from every race and ethnicity in our country, anyone opposed to illegal immigration is a racist. Go figure.
2: The God card. These God card players want us to believe that being opposed to illegal immigration is un-Christian. I suppose that they think God supports breaking the law and stealing identities to work illegaly in the U.S. I'm not a Bible expert by no means, however I do remember that one of the Ten Commandments was " Thou Shalt Not Steal "
3: The share card. You've got it. We American citizens and legal immigrants should share what we have worked hard for all of our lives with illegal immigrants who have no respect for our laws or our country. Yep, we should just hand over what we have to these illegal invaders.
4: The Native American card. Since I'm part Cherokee, I'm not buying into this. According to a book my Grandmother gave me titled " Through Indian Eyes " , my Indian ancestors crossed a land bridge from Siberia to Alaska during the last Ice Age. There are numerous websites with such information as well. The people who play this card also claim that the illegals who come from 'South of the Border' are the indigenous people of this land. I really hate to break this news to you, however it was a Spanish conquistador by the name of Hernando Cortez who conqured Mexico, wiped out the Aztec Empire, and then bred his fellow Spanish conquistadors with what was left of the so called native population thus creating his own so called ' Mexican Race '
5: The Isolationist Hyporcrite Card. This card is also played against those of us who are opposed to our factories closing and moving their operations to foreign countries. As unbelievebale as this is, there are people who continue to play this card.
It's obvious that the card players named above are willing to sell our country out on the turn of a dime, and those of us who are opposed to this sellout are racist, isolationist anti-Christian hypocrites.
Let the neverending card game begin.

The only valid point I will give the pro-illegal lobby is that our current legal immigration system is totally broken. That does not, however, grant carte blanc to those who simply don't want to wait.
Illegal is illegal and should be enforced however you must know if my family was being exploited and starving to death in the streets and I felt powerless to do anything in my country, I would flee.
To be honest, if food and drink was just accross the border not only could I understand some poor family forcing their way over the line for a chance, nay, for the hope of a better life to to partake in the bounty but to take what you have worked for and not look back, just to survive.
Sure it's wrong to steal, but if you have ever been hungry...I mean really hungry or had to do without a meal or better yet, tell you children there was no food...you'd find a way at all cost and not care one bit what laws were in effect.

Glen, these people are not coming in order to feed their families, and make a better life. They are expecting US to support them in this country, when their own won't do it for them. They are demanding we GIVE them, what we have worked for all our lives, they demand that WE learn to speak their language, AND they DEMAND that we give them amnesty for breaking our laws. Okay, with that mind set, I guess Paris Hilton should DEMAND her own amnesty, and for your sake, the judge should give it to her. That is in essence what you are saying.

PORTLAND, Ore. - Federal agents on Tuesday raided the offices of a food processing plant suspected of employing hundreds of illegal workers who used Social Security numbers that belonged to other people or were made up, authorities said.
By Tuesday morning, approximately 100 workers had been placed under administrative arrest to be processed for possible deportation, an official with the Department of Homeland Security said. More arrests were expected, the official said.
According to an affidavit filed by Maximillian Trimm, a special agent with Immigration and Customs Enforcement, only 48 of nearly 600 employees at the Fresh Del Monte Produce fruit and vegetable processing plant had valid Social Security numbers.
The raid at American Staffing Resources Inc. offices at the plant was based on an investigation by ICE and the Social Security Administration that began in January, the official told The Associated Press.
A federal judge authorized agents to search for evidence of violations such as hiring illegal aliens, identity theft and Social Security fraud, according to the U.S. attorney's office in Portland.
Aeryca Steinbauer, spokeswoman for CAUSA Oregon, an immigration rights group, was outside the Del Monte plant as agents were interviewing workers, but she said she had not been able to talk to any of them."

They are also playing the "sympathy card" (sorry if it's already covered under one of your cards listed above, but I think it's significant enough to have its own card listed). People (unfortunately, including my own husband) thinks illegals are Ok because they are poor, and "all they wanted to do was to earn enough money to support their families back in [country name]". So, as a "good hearted" person, we should be sympathetic and let them come and get a job (and take away the job from another American).
Well, sorry, Americans (and legal immigrants) are trying to make a living too. I am no way sympathetic about them. Get out. Period.

I worked with a Puerto-Rican for several years, and his main complaint was that families were broken up when these raids took place. And to futher add insult to his argument, he often stated that he hated Mexicans ! Go figure.
I should have clarified my post........I meant when they are arrested and getting ready to be deported.

Did you see the youtube video which shows him being interviewed on Friday due to the immigration bill not passing?? He was pi$$ed and was ranting and raving---the interviewer could barely get a word in. He then says specifically to Americans during the interview-----okay, "all of you can quit sending me all of the hate mail now"!!!
My step-daughter had been dating an illegal Mexican, claiming he wasn't illegal, he had a SS card, etc. He barely spoke any english, but he was not illegal. The minute I laid eyes on him I knew what he was, and what he was after. She would not hear anything any of the family had to say, until she found out that he had a wife and son in Mexico. Well, he had told her he had a son back in Mexico, but said he was not with the boys mother. I am not exactly sure what she took that to mean, but I suppose she thought they were divorced or never married. He had asked her to marry him (after only a few months) but when they were looking for places to live to move in together, he would not look at decent places, only trashy dumps in the slum sections of town. He was telling her $550/mo for a two bedroom apt. was too much. He claimed he had to send money back to Mexico for his son. He also had a cell phone that she was not supposed to touch. We tried to tell her there was more than just a son in Mexico, and finally convinced her to check his cell phone and get the Mexican phone numbers off of it. She found two that he called frequently and called them herself (she speaks fluent Spanish). When a woman answered the phone at the first number she called, my step-daughter asked her several questions, and then asked her if she was the wife of "Daniel", and she said yes, several times. When my daughter confronted him, at first he denied it, but ultimately admitted he was. He then had the nerve to tell her, he didn't love his wife, he was divorcing her so they could be married, blah blah blah.
She "loved him" and wanted to believe him, to the point that she was still going to marry him. Well, her father had other plans and there would definately be no wedding.
What I wonder is how many young women here have fallen for this, and how our wonderful immigration system handles it. These men have legal wives and families in their own country, and come here illegally, marry American girls to gain their legal status, and often times dump the American "wives" after fathering a kid or two. Their legal status should not be valid, as they were not "legally" married to the American citizen, since they were already married to someone in their home country. This happens more than most people are aware, and quite often the American "wives", are in their late teens and early 20's, and very gullible.
I have been trying to locate information on this type of situation with regard to how our immigration services deal with illegals that have done just this sort of thing, but I have not made much progress.
I guess this type of thing would throw a monkey wrench into their whole "family values" claims though. Now they have a family still in Mexico, and an illegitimate family here. Of course the family here will be paid for by our welfare system, since the illegal father is sending most of his money back to Mexico, and that leaves nothing to support the family here, so the mother can collect assistance for the kid(s) this illegal PIG has fathered. Even if these jerks were to lose their legal status, and be deported, we tax paying Americans will spend the next 18 years supporting the "family values" that he is leaving behind.
When the situation involves illegals that have had babies born here, they can and should take those kids with them, but when it involves American citizens who were fooled, and a marriage that is not legal, we can't send them along with the illegal. This topic has not made front page news yet, most likely because the Americans involved are embarrassed, and their families do not want it to become public knowledge. We intercepted where our daughter was concerned, but how many were not stopped in time?
Not that they will do much with it, especially since he had actually been arrested one night and even though he had been caught driving with no license, was known to be illegal, and had a failure to appear warrant in AZ, they released him on $100 bail, and gave him another court date, which of course was another failure to appear.
Brenda, keep up the great work you do. I know you have provided me with information that helps in my fight with this battle. I spend a lot of time with the political battle front, and often miss things or skim over things that I could use, but am too limited on time to research.

Your post definitely explains what I was trying to say regarding the "Family Values" card.
I belong to another site which also includes some border patrol agents. One border patrol agent posted a comment stating that there were times that the illegals tossed their babies/children to them like footballs so that they could get away. He said that there are also times when the illegals will abandon their children in the desert-----and the Border Patrol will let the children use a megaphone/loudspeaker to call out to the parents. The parents will not come to claim the children!!!

Timothy, I know it also happens to men. Often times worse, in that the women want the baby that will be their ticket to staying and collecting the benefits, plus they learned early on about the child support laws in this country. I am sure it must seem like a gold mine to them, to find some hard working American man, that they can con into marrying them, and then dump when they have gotten their free ticket.
I am sorry, but my children would never be a pawn in any situation, and certainly would not be left behind to avoid being sent back to my own country. To risk harming them is beyond comprehension.
Glen T, and all other bleeding hearts, have you ever asked yourself why these Mexicans are so hungry in their resource rich nation? Do the words corrupt government and social oligarchy mean anything to you? Yes, the Mexican War was a war of agression, but at that time the typical Mexican was leaving as a near slave on a hacienda, peon was the word I believe. Even the Catholic priests in the California colony treated the Indians as slaves.
We need a new Crusade. Picture 12 million illegals lead by La Raza and all their wine and quiche liberal sympathizers marching on Mexico City and demanding an end to corruption, protection from global corporations using NAFTA and the WTO as an excuse to buy out Mexican businesses and bleed them dry, realistic tariff protections for Mexican enterprise, realistic minimum wage protection, and the right to unionize.
When Mexico gets its act together and starts acting like a good neighbor instead of exporting its problems to us, then maybe we can find ways of helping them without surrendering our own sovereignty.
