What does everyone collect?

Coca-Cola merchandise (I live in Atlanta, so that's real easy!), shot glasses, trinket boxes and snow globes.

Oh Karen, what a wicked topic to offer to a collector addict. Well, really, it is not me, but my husband...but I am certainly his enabler. So, his first passion was Robbie the Robot, who he blew up in his backyard some 20 years ago, only to find out that Robbie in current dollars would fetch a nice price in mint condition. When I first met the love of my life, in the 90's, he came complete with a HUGE record collection (a DJ for a alternative radio staion who had met everybody, and had a picture to proove it, like the Alice Cooper that still adorn the walls). These days, we try to make the art of collection, the art of retirement...thinking now what that Robbie - or other cult collectable - will be worth in 25 years. So now, he has the "MAN FORT", my gift to him to put every bit of memoribilia that he has, in any way he sees fit. I'm happy, he's happy - and every holiday, ebay get's the attantion of the loving wife to purchase just the right new piece for the collection.

I collect trains. I have kept my mothers collection of dolls as they are too beautiful to do away with, so I guess I now collect dolls.

Guitars. I'm not sure how many. I'd have to go look. They are kind of like shoes (or screwdrivers if you prefer) each one has a specific purpose.

I also collect modern poetry anthologies and collections of ancient oriental court poetry.

Barbie dolls, hallmark ornaments, Coca-Cola merchandise, Disney Old & new merchandise including Disney beanie's, Boyd's bears but-I have many teddies, including Yogi my beloved childhood bear who has no fur. I have cherished Teddies, & Precious Moments I no longer collect either but I can not give them away.

I collect carousel horses and my husband collects a lot of stuff. He's a pack rat.

Someone asked this question awhile back and there was alot of interesting answers.

We have a beer can collection, anything to do with the Pillsbury Doughboy, baseball cards, vinyl records, shot glasses....way too much stuff.

Aside from books, records (LPs), cassette audio and video tapes, CDs, DVDs, and other forms of media (in case I left anything out), there is artwork (original), beanie babies (and knockoffs of same), scrapbooking supplies (to make greeting cards).
It would seem that I collect computers since I have about 10 in the house - some working, some not.
Many things are here, some were actually collected, some just collect dust.

I used to collect Teddy bears, I have a lot of Elvis items and I still collect recipes. Back in the mid 1970's I purchased antique furniture but it cost too much money to do that now.

Memories.

I don't currently collect anything (or rather, maybe it's that I collect 'everything'...I'm such a packrat! Lol). When I was younger, though, I had (still have in storage somewhere) a huge collection of trolls of all sizes, shapes, countries, varieties (puppets, erasers, babies, bunnies, bride/groom sets, jewelery, etc)....and I had a small collection of Popples for a while, too, but that was more just because I happened across them at yard sales and really liked them.

I guess you could say I collect pets, as we have 2 dogs, 10 cats, 7 rats, 2 gerbils, and 2 tanks of tropical fish. Other than that, I collect Spanish textbooks, workbooks, and books written in Spanish, also movies and CDs in Spanish.

Besides books, CD's and DVD's, I collect trinket boxes with Swarovski crystals. Casey collects die cast cars - he has probably several thousand of them, many displayed in glass cases in our game room, including a lot of Matchbox cars in the original boxes.

I collect Czech glass and china and vintage jewelry. Mostly earrings.
