In Bangsbo, an area on the outskirts of Frederikshavn, in Northern Jutland, Denmark is a place called the Bangsbo Museum.
The Bangsbo Museum has been created at the historical manor house Bangsbo and its land, and a botanical garden, as well as an amazing park area have been restored from the first park plan dated in 1812. The oldest of the Bangsbo manor buildings date all the way back to the 16th century. Bangsbo is surrounded by deep forrests, river valleys, hills and lakes all rich in animal life.

A great anchor welcomes the many locals and tourists to the Bangsbo area, as Frederikshavn is a coastal town with a long history of wars fought at sea.

This beautiful bridge greets visitors with an amazing scenery, and behind it you can catch a glimpse of the oldest building at Bangsbo, a beautiful stable.


The herb garden contains more than 150 different herbs, spices and medical herbs from all over the world.



The earliest proof of the existence of the Bangsbo Manor is a letter dated back to 1364, in which the manor is mentioned.
However, the manor has been torn down and rebuilt on several occasions since then, and Bangsbo has had numerous owners as well as architectural structures.

The present main building was built around 1750.



The park area at Bangsbo spans over more than 17,500 cubic meters.


The Tea House and The Gartner house have faced complete renovations between 1997 and 2001.

This beautiful stable is built around 1580, and it is the oldest building on the Bangsbo manor.
Bangsbo has been the property of Frederikshavn county for the past 18 years, and the stables as well as the main buildings now house several local and regional historical collections includingf a ship dated back to 1163 and an exhibit from the resistance movement in Jutland during World War II.


Bangsbo's stables show great proof of the different ages and architectural styles of the manor.
