There were no sure bets this weekend. A block down southwest of Lake Nokomis was having a sale (that's always a good neighborhood).Â
Then, a townhome complex in St. Louis Park was having a sale; once we got there we remembered we've been there before. This made us glad we brought both Janie's power and manual wheelchairs. This second stop was a power wheelchair opportunity, and we spent the bulk of our day there.
Finally, a large swath of South Minneapolis was having a sale. This is not that affluent an area, and the sales were pretty spread out. If someone had a bike and trailer they could have gone up and down every street and alley and done well, I think. As it was, the alleys that had more than one sale were in poor repair, and a pain for the manual wheelchair. But we DID find things there anyway.
In this part 1, we present things we did not buy.

Other things we did not buy:

Little crock pot
price - $2
no sale
I didn't see the point of a crock pot that held one quart. Later I thought it was probably for keeping dips hot at a party. Now I get it, but it's too late and we don't have room.

Rocker sip cup (in handcuffs?)
price - 50 cents
No sale
Maybe it's supposed to be Charles Manson. I'm not up on the metal bands, especially those who put on the "dangerous" act to titilate little girls.

Saint Paul Saints Bobblehead
price - $2
no sale
I'm not a baseball fan, but St. Paul is very fond of it's minor league franchise (owned by Bill Murray).
The little bat is a nice touch, I thought.

 Sled
price - $29
no sale
This would be ideal for someone's interior decorating, but I hope it gets bought to be used. Though vintage, it looks like it has plenty of life in it.

Mechanic's sled

My car sits too close to the ground (in the interest of gas mileage). I've always thought these were a slick invention.

The tag said 1980, though that was a while ago. If it had said 1968, I might have bought it, even though I have no place to put it.

Bikes, bikes, bikes. This is a great year for quality bikes at sales. I already have one.

 Cabinet

Actually, the host was putting the sold sale sign on as I walked up. Some father was there with his son and said, "This will work for you're room." The kid objected, but we've all been kids right? Do kids get what they want? Not always.

Power hack-saw device
price - $150

I laughed about this a lot. It just looked dangerous as hell. Now, the more I look at it, I've come to think "why not?" As long as it goes really slow back and forth. I envisioned it jerking back and forth, which would be quite dangerous.
Still, $150 . . .

So, that's what we didn't buy.  Stay around.   When this wording turns blue, that'll mean I'm done with part 2, or what we did buy.

Thank you, Kathleen. I'm hoping someone to identify that guy on the drinking cup.
You're welcome Dawn.
Sue, any time. Actually, I did hit the wall yesterday and needed to come home and lie down. Even after a nap I was shot. You're right, it can be tiring.
Thanks for stopping by Shannon.
Debbie, thank you. I just got Part 2 done.
Ron, about the photo of the car parked by an uncaring cretin.....maybe you should send it to the DMV with the tag info blown up........ LOL
and we wouldve put it ... where?
The sled only works if the snow is icy - I had one growing up. Does Not Work on powder.
Laura, I might have used it for dips. Unfortunately, dips aren't so low calorie, and I'm getting my calories elsewhere. I'm not dieting, but I know if I'm going to have to eat something that isn't exactly great for me, I'm going to be picky. I grew up in powder country, so I know what you mean about the sled . . .
Lori, I think I missed an opportuity there.
Keep checking back, Irene : )
Jodie, thanks for stopping by.
