Hourglass 01 of 07
Our Clock
tick tock tick tock
heart beats thudding
with the clock
tick tock tick tock
time is passing
tick tock tick
heart beats thud thud
thud with the clock
seconds and minutes
tick tock thud thud
grow into hours striking
bong bong bong bong
hours now tumbling
bong bong bong
into lost days falling
tick bong thud years growing long
heart beats once so strong
tick bong thud tock
fading with days short
before nights falling long
all lives hang
on ticking clock
striking bong tock thud
sounding knell of time
tick tock thud bong
the clock is slowing
slow tock tick thud bong
silence

You have a wonderful writing talent. I'm so glad I happened across you here on Gather.
Loved it.
A very rhythmical flowing little poem, the pace seemed to pick up and then slow dramatically before the final silence, Having restored quite a few Grandfather clocks over the years ,that was the image that came to mind ,and I felt for it when it stopped. Well Done .

You really are a craftsman to be able to restore them - I think it'd be fascinating to do.
I´ve only read two so far, Magi, but I find this Hourglass sequence is one of your best series of poems yet. In fact, masterly.
And thank you for the huge compliment.
