Laundry.....blahhhhhh!!!

I'm feeling the same way Kristy. Currently avoiding my laundry at the moment as well. :)

It's amazing how the more we have, it seems the less freedom we have - we're tied down by obligation and commitment. I just moved, and it's really hitting me that I have WAY too many possessions. There's no need for all that *stuff* - why am I hoarding it? oh, and I try to get my husband to do the laundry :)

Do you dust? I'll trade ya. I love laudry (yes I'm crazy) but dusting ewwwwwww

Well the laundry question is something that I forgot about myself,but it is looming at some point today.Sometimes I relate the problem to the movie "The Blob," exept "The Pile," would be more apt,the thing just keeps growing and growing.At one point I had a rule that if you bought an article of clothing,you had to get rid of an article of clothing.The fantasies we subject ourselves too.I once had a job running a baler for Salvation Army, all I did all day was throw donated clothes in and would put out about nine bales a day.They would ship them off to another warehouse where I assume someone went through them, then put what was usable in industrial washers.That's a lot of clothes if you look at the daily + weekly production.If there are naked people anywhere in the world I can't imagine why.We moved to this location with six suitcases about a year ago which meant a minimum of clothes.A year later the beast has grown back to the same proportions we had before we moved here.Pretty frightening.Here's something equally disturbing.If you have a family of five and say you had two pairs of socks per person a day for an average month that would be 310 pairs of socks, over the course of a year (if my figures are correct) you would wind up washing 3,720 pairs of socks.Of course the figure doubles to 7,440 if you look at each sock as a seperate item. Does anybody else need an aspirin or a cold washcloth for their forehead?

(((I have often contemplated...since we have discovered all kinds of technology...disposable--cool clothes for kids...would be incredible. The only thing is--they dispose of them before they even wore them...back to thinking)))

disposable clothes would be an amazing thing and i can't wait for you to invent them charity. i bet they would be beautiful if you designed them. oh wait, then i wouldn't want to throw them away.....oh well, we are just doomed to the washboard.
