Goldroad and Oatman, Arizona

In April my sister in law & I took a road trip from San Diego, to Scottsdale, Az to Kingman, Az and back to San Diego, Ca. This was a few of our favorite spots.

My mother took us to see Oatman, Az. This photo is from the famous Oatman Hotel. (A honeymoon spot of Clark Gable & Carole Lombard. As well as a favorite Gold Rush era favorite) It's a cute cowboy town with cowboy street shootouts daily.

We left on Gold road.

They stay roaming in the small town until just before dusk daily.

I love everything I know so far about Arizona, and I'm sure I'll love everything new I learn about Arizona. AZ is such a cool state!!!

I "brushed" past Oatman once and knew about the burros, but I haven't stopped and spent time there. Nice photo essay!

It's been so many years since I've been up in that area that I had forgotten about some of its ominous beauty. I've never seen that sign, though; you sure that's not a unicorn?

I was lucky to be able to live in Arizona for many years. It's a great state with a lot of interesting things to see and discover.

Oatman is a cool, laid back cowboy town. Did you visit Clark Gable's room in the Oatman Hotel? Feed many donkeys? Meet any bikers?
I plan on going in October when its cooler outside. Gold road is great for riding my Harley.

Oatman is fun, but Arizona is beautiful :-)

Arizona is one of a few states should I decide to ever move from Washington, I would consider moving to and making home. I loved both our trips there it was beautiful and fantastic.
