Why I Teach CHILDREN

No problem, we all need to let out a little bit of steam. I am glad you teach children it is a very noble profession. There are not enough KUDOS for teachers, but I want to thank you for what you do

It is okay to rant. We all need to let off steam and gather is an excellent place to this.

Rant away girlfriend! The onlyreason no one has annoyed me today is i haven't left the farm! LOL
BTW I try to teach my kids, and i work withthem, volunteer at the school, etc, but it really amazes me how many parents don't!
My sons PreK class had to practially BEG for enough parents for a filed trip! I beg to go!! LOL They are so much fun.
We had the preK registration for next year for my youngest, and this will be the third year in a row that i have had one in preschool, and Randy was counting and spelling his name and the names if all his siblings, he knew his numbers, i think a lot of it with mine is a trickle down from the other kids. My6 year old just finished Kindergarten and she is reading at 2nd &1/2 grade level they told me.
Now, in have wandered way off track here! Sorry!
Bottom Line THANK YOU! Teachers are WAY underpayed for the responsibility they have! Kids who come to school needing a bath ,clean clothes , and a hug! And they get the hug with out a second thought! I've seen it in our small school I can only imagine what it's like in larger schools!

That's exactly why I'm going BACK to school...I'm getting away from the crazy world and going back to an age group that sometimes seems to have things in a much better perspective.

Blame the parents. Children have no discipline and think they are smarter than the parents. But most of all I think the good Dr. Spock has most to do with this nonsense. He wrote the book how to raise children, people took it as gospel and the good Dr. never had any children.

Here is something to ponder Karen, I made a bad career choice. I wanted to be a fifth grade teacher. But I chose instead my second option, journalism. I made the choice as a result of watching a friend get turned down over and over for a position teaching fifth graders. He did get work, in Canada. I had a total of three male teachers in grades K through 12. Fifth grade, PE and wood shop.

I really envy you, and hope that your frustrations are far outweighed by what I consider the most rewarding career there is.

I think we are all allowed to rant every once in a while :) I hope you feel better now. I do understand though, some so called adults can be completely obnoxious!
