Today is the first day in FOREVER i don;t have to go anywhere! LOL So iwill be trying (LOL) to catch up on my housework! Will be even harder with all the kids home, but sometimes i can get them to help!

My GF Margaret and I met almost 23 yrs ago when we lived in the same apartment bldg.. She was fresh out of nursing school. I recorded the song on my little tape recorder and one evening when she wasn't home I called (as many times as it took to get it all on her message machine,the darn thing had limited message time per call) and I left her that song. No other message.....She guessed it was me.
She is my youngest and may I add LAST baby. She is Miss Molly. And the face and leather studded bracelet on her arm really does say it all. No really she is very sweet and loving.

Carmel I'm so glad they have tea parties. It is a vital part of a child growing up, and of course dressing up too. We used to have a box of just "dress up" clothes. A neighbor lady used to give us her old hats and purses.
heres the funny part of all of them the 21 year old lives & works on a farm the 19 year old In the pic. is Phi Betta Kappa at her college and works at Victy's secret the 7 year old is full girlly girl the baby is a mini mechanic. lol Yes Audrey we have a Tea Party every summer at a friends cottage on the lake good manners and hats, gloves, proper shoes etc are require of all the ladies who attend.. so much fun. The adults have way more fun then the kidlets. glad to here you used to love playing dress up My aunt would do that with us for hours on end it is my fondest childhood memory of her.

I suppose in today's world it isn't considered proper for boys to put on dresses and hats, but when I was little we didn't have so many toys and old clothes let us live out many fun things. The boys actually liked to be the MOM and give orders. lol

Lilly is planning to teach her brothers to read this summer! She just informed me! She has them in a circle and she is making them learn sight words! LOL
She justfinished kindergarten and is reading at a 2nd grade level, so i have no doubt she can do it! LOL

Playing school was our second favorite pastime. We used our imaginations so much back then because we didh't have all the toys that did everyhing for us.
Yes, they are, especially Tracy and Tammy who are the to older of the trio. They are 17 mos apart and then came Eric 17 mos. later. None of them lives in the same town but they are all close in thought.
You know Audrey my kids have all kinds of gadgets, and they usually play pretend or school or outside!! I never made a big deal about tv time and stuff and they choose to do orther stuff!
Im in the middle of a vicious battle with my wisdom teeth, they're winning!! That is, until the Oral Seurgon and I can schedule the last fight, when i get all 4 of them puppies pulled!!! lol... Lets just say, im not talking alot latley, only cuz it hurts to move my jaw!
I try not to make a big deal out of things, my kids play with toy guns, and candy cigarrettes! LOL I thinkif i make a big deal and "forbid" them it will only make them want to try real ones more! IMHO of course!
Cindi, you are absolutely right. We grew up with guns, both the cap gun type and ones we made with sticks, and we sometimes pretended to smoke, and once in awhile even had candy cigarettes. I know it never affected my thinking because I never have smoked and also don't like firearms. If you talk to the kids about real and make believe they do understand. We used to have to count to 25 when we were shot dead, before we could staart playing again.
They do Audrey!! It is SOO cool to listen to them play!! They are truly amazing! My boys (2 youngest) are 1 year and 2 weeks apart, and they are like twins! They don't like doing anyting without the other one!

My husband is a hunter, so we have guns (locked up of course) and the kids KNOW the difference! And unfortunately they also know about death after this week!
It is ok for kids to learn about death as it is part of living, but I think understanding what guns can do is also a part of growing up. My sons took gun safety courses when they were young.
My oldest did, and I took it with him! IN MI you have to be 10 to tale it, and I am sure my younger ones will too when they get there! If all kids did we might have fewer accidents!
I was at Fort Sill OK and that colonel was Kevin Batule. and he was a hunk. I met his wife at the banquet for the OCS alumni and told her I though she had married a hunk. She said,"Oh, don't let him hear you say that. I'm trying to keep him humble," He was really very nice...and you should have seen him in his dress blues.
