May I interview and feature you??? Sure!Well you may have a hundred replies already, but here's 101, thank you.
jb
What is your favorite word? At this moment it's "ovoid."
What is your favorite sound? Wind in the tall trees, in June, before sunrise or after sunset.
What makes you happier than anything else? Feeling connection, that I'm somehow doing my part.
What do you dream of?
I share Adrienne Rich's "dream of a common language," but I guess my deepest dream is someday to know the people I love from inside, as I know myself, but without even the mask I wear for myself. (Of course this won't be until I've walked off from this kind old body that has been so faithful to me!)
What do you like about your life? I like the feeling that, slow as a snail, I'm better at a few important things than when I began. And that there's the promise of that continuing, up to the day.
If you could have three wishes what would they be?
Peace inside myself, enough to give away.
Confidence -- real ease -- in sharing my delights.
Compassion without the fear and withdrawal.
Have you figured out the secret of life? Yes, it has a duration beyond any measure,
and the goal is always renewed a tone higher.
What makes you laugh? My own silliness, for one thing. The utter pleasure of a warm shower in the cool air and hot sunshine behind the house.
If you could choose 5 people to have dinner with living or dead who would it be?
Well it would be a bit rude to invite the dead, if the food is good. It was so hard for them to get over that! So I'd like to dine with Gore Vidal, Adrienne Rich, Jennifer Aniston, Barak Obama, and why don't you be the fifth, Kathline? Well of course I would love too. That is my first invite!!
If you were alone on an island what three things would you have to have with you?
"Lost" has kind of screwed up this imagination--that is my first reaction.
But I'd like a flute to learn, a young labrador dog, and a box full of seeds.
Thanks, this was fun!

Love and blessings - S.
Thank you for this interview with John.
I know him to be a very kind person who is very supportive of other writers on Gather.
He is also very well read and erudite and on top of all that understands all of my stories and poems.
I'm very grateful to have made his acquaintance here on Gather and look forward
to meeting him in person later this year.
Good interview "K"
God Bless You!
Sorry to be so late reading this - I think John Beck is one of Gather's
best poets. And you did such a good interview...fresh questions and
and fresh answers. Nice idea, this article. I'd like to see more of these.
