Greetings! Happy June 6th! Today is the birthday of the first president of the Soka Gakkai, Tsunesaburo Makiguchi. Mr. Makiguchi died a martyr in prison before the end of WWII. He and his disciple, Josei Toda, were arrested because they opposed the military government of Japan. Mr Toda was eventually released just prior to the end of the war. Through his efforts and those of the current international leader, Daisaku Ikeda, over 12 million people around the world have been able to learn about this Buddhism (Nichiren School, whose basic practice is chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo), that was taught in the 13th century in Japan.
I hope this short writing touches you in all the right ways and encourages you in some way or another. I will happily celebrate my 56th year of spinning around our planet tomorrow. Peace.

| Wisdom |
When wisdom is functioning in our life, it has the effect of enabling us to overcome the ingrained perspectives of our habitual thinking and arrive at a fresh and holistic view of a given situation. We are able to make a broad assessment of facts, perceive the essence of an issue and steer a sure course toward happiness. ... Wisdom dispels our delusions of separateness and awakens in us a sense of empathetic equality with all living things.
