What are your thoughts on ghosts and spirits?

The thought of ghosts freaks me out but there has to be something out there. I see things out of the corners of my eyes sometimes and figure there had to be something there.

Totally believe and have seen many..it is a very interesting subject for me.

Whatever they are, they don't do much in real life. They're just "there". I've never seen one. I'd probably yell at it "GO reincarnate! Go to Heaven! Go to Hell! Go where ever to the Great Beyond! Just DO something! You're DEAD!" I don't know - ha ha.

I like to read and write ghost stories. They DO more in fiction. Hamlet is my favorite ghost story.

I like to hear stories that people tell about their experiences. Once my mother and I both smelled a very strong scent of roses where there were none after my father died. That's the only close to ghost experience I've ever had so I really don't know much about it.

I am skeptical but I try to remain open minded. I think if some people spent more time rationally judging the situation and looking for reasons why something happened rather than running away they would find a lot more answers. I love ghost stories and scary movies, but in reality I just cannot accept it so easily.

I have a ghost here, in my house. It's a little girl, long dark hair, wearing a long white lacy dress. She doesn't bother anyone except that she likes to play with the pups in the middle of the night occasionally.

I have one friend who saw her and now refuses to come into my house at all, even though she generally only comes out at night.

Why are ghosts of little girls always wearing a white lacy dress? Every ghost show or paranormal show I have seen, this is the case.

I've had experiences with the dearly departed, too. When a neighbor died suddenly of a heart attack, three days later the near-empty shampoo bottles and conditioner bottles sitting on a shelf, began to rock forward and back when I got out of the shower. We had a slab foundation, and we lived on sand in a non-earthquake zone. I told him to get out of my bathroom. After telling his widow this story about a week later, she then related several tales of unexplained occurences in her home while she was at work. So, yes, I believe. And I believe those who have crossed over come to us in our dreams and visit us in that manner. Cool, isn't it?

Thats true they do seem to always wear lacey dresses. Never noticed that before.
Oh and I do believe in the dream thing, My dad had a dream about his father telling him that there was oil on his land and where to drill, he called the oil company and told them of the area he wanted to drill on they did thier tests and decided that it was a good place and now Dad has a oil rig there.

I grew up with my mother and other relatives swearing that they could see spirits, including sometimes saying hello or exchanging some nicety with some in public places only to find out later that was not a living person. It was interesting to have someone describe who they saw on the street and have someone else say that, that just wasn't possible because that particular person had been dead for x amount of time. Some of the stories would leave me in fear. I've never seen a ghost, and I would never like to have that experience. I, however, am not afraid of having the experience now. I think I truly realized I didn't a few weeks ago when I spent the night with some friends and slept in the room their elderly roommate died in last year. Some people won't go in the room. They seem to be afraid he is somehow in it. He did spend most of his time in that room.

I have no idea why they're here. It could very well be they have unfinished business here. When I hear this about spirits of peopl who died centuries ago and still haven't managed to solve their problem, I want to say, "Get on with it already." Some I suppose truly like it here.

I still love ghost stories. The opening line of A CHRISTMAS CAROL told me that there would possibly be at least one ghost in it. This book is one of my most favorites. I thought I was in heaven when, in April, I came across Lacy Collison-Morley's book, GREEK AND ROMAN GHOST STORIES.

One ghost element in a story line that has never ceased to bother me is the one in the TV show Charmed, which is now in rerun mode. There were a few references to a time when Piper dated a ghost. I just couldn't get my mind around that.

It's good to be skeptical when it comes to ghosts Elizabeth. I watch Ghost Hunters and I really love thier approach to ghost hunting. They go to every site skeptical wanting to find things to disprove the hauntings. They have disproved many by just using thier knowledge as plumbers. They do not say a place is truly haunted unless they have some good evidence that could not be disproved by logic and reason. Even when they think something paranormal is going on Jason Hawes (One of the group leaders) has a really really hard time saying the place is haunted. So its good to not automatically saying oh that place is haunted becouse I hear loud thouds all the time, when it could be something as simple as a plumbing problem.

It's fascinating me. I have several opinions on "seeing ghost". I see them sometimes too, and also have seen black molecules forming a persons body passing by. ...just passing by through the house into the wall as if walking a path on a road and no obstacles...
But extroidinary events have happened with my sisters and I regarding my mother who passed on in 1986 especially. My mother was always very intuitive, and could predict events. It passed on to us siblings too. I know usually I sense major disasters within two weeks time of them happening if its going to affect me in some way of emotions per se.
I have read angel books and one of them states that we have 22 angels each plus relatives long gone protecting us.

I have seen a ghost of a dog(another house), and have felt presences in my house- my daughter has seen an apparition of a man here..so have others.
I go on investigations(only some- I dont feel well) and have captured some interesting pics. Just last week I was at a house and one the guys was feeling something over his head- we tooks pics and there was a bright orb right above him. This guy has gotten so many EVP's..some funny and some downright scary.

I have seen ghosts for years--not on the sidewalk, but in certain places. I lived in a haunted house for twelve years when I still lived in Ohio. I have no idea why little girl ghosts wear lacy white dresses LOL. That was pretty commom garb for a little girl a hundred years ago. Perhaps that's why so many are seen in it. My grandaughter saw ours first. It took me a year longer. The pups were jumping and playing one night and I turned around and looked and there she was, playing with them. I had to apologize to my grandaughter LOL. I had been giving her a hard time about it. As I said, she doesn't bother anyone except that once in a while the pups will play with her in the middle of the night. That wouldn't be a problem except that they sleep with me LOL!

I believe that all spirits that roam this earth are NOT someone who has lived and died here. They are mostly evil demons sent to torment or they can be angels who are trying to send us a message from God. The later happens only rarely. I have encountered ghosts but never truly saw one. I have felt their presence. I believe when we see them as a person or an animal it is only a deception of what they really are.

I don't like this stuff.
