What is your favorite sound?
a child’s un-self-conscious, whole-hearted laughter.
What makes you happier that anything else?
when someone likes (I mean REALLY likes) a painting I have created
What do you dream of?
my dreams are seldom remembered, but I usually have the sense that they were happy ones
What do you like about your life?
being retired has made it possible for me to finally do some things I truly love to do: paint and write
If you could have three wishes what would they be?
no more tornados, hurricanes or sunamiis!
Have you figured out the secret of life?
Yes: simply that it’s not about me…it’s all about the next generation
What makes you laugh?
lots of things - I love to laugh…if I must name a few of them: jokes, my own dumb mistakes, other people laughing, surprises
If you could choose 5 people to have dinner with living or dead who would it be?
my oldest son and his wife who live in England (because I so seldom see them), and three of my as-yet unborn grandchildren…so I could know now what they may need in their lives in the future
If you were alone on an island what three things would you have to have with you?
“have to haveâ€Â? …at first I thought, “a watch,â€Â but I could track the days with the sun rises and sunsets…then I thought art materials, but I suspect I could find a way to draw and do art using natural materials…so, now I think I know: my wife (companionship is so nice!), a good, sturdy and sharp knife, and a shortwave radio to monitor the goings-on in the world
