Fascinating that Giuliani would jump out and say he supports the NH state motto, but he doesn't look like much of a libertarian standing on the same stage with Ron Paul, who is regarded as a principled champion of liberty. Do Paul and Giuliani agree on anything? If not, then what does "liberty" mean?
One characteristic of a free country is that power is decentralized, not consolidated with one group. In that vein, a number of these candidates have made strong statements on states' rights: Mike Huckabee, Tommy Thompson, etc. This is extra-important for a lot of us in New Hampshire who think we are fairly well-governed at the state level and not so well-governed at the federal level.
Does Giuliani trust New Hampshire to be a "laboratory of democracy," or doesn't he? Based on his record, I doubt it...
